| Hi... MacMahon here. I have purchased LOGAN 1.4 GLX (M. Silver) in May 2008. I am very satisfied with the car except two points, 1. The Odometer shows 1600+ kms. First servicing is due this month end. The milage obsurved is 8.5 to 9 km/lt in city driving(Mumbai) and 12 km/lt on mumbai-pune express way. 2. Recently obsurved that water is accumulating under rubber floor mats. It started with under the driver seat. and now it is found under floor mats of rear seats. especially in the depression near doors as if it is having some opening under moulded flooring. All the remaining flooring and trimings are dry. Has anybody faced such problem and help me out so that I can get it fixed during first service. | |

| Hey MacMahon, welcome and congratulations! As for the water, I guess it should be your AC outlet. There usually is a tube that takes this water outside the car. In your case, this tube could not be fixed properly or maybe broken. I had similar problems with my earlier car, not a Logan though. Have them remove the entire matting and get it dried before they put it back. If its badly soaked, it could cause odour and you can even demand for a replacement fot the floor mats if needed. Keep us posted.. | |

| Dude, all that dhanushan was saying is only temporary. PLEASE go to the service station and GET IT CHECKED ASAP. Dont wait for the service as it is ruining your car. This happened with me in my swift and it was due to improper fixing of the Windscreen by the COMPANY , I ws shocked and almost killed them for it thought they replaced the windscreen for me. Dont waste time brother... | |

| I got my car serviced on saturday. According to the service centre the problem is due to A/C vent pipe. It was half outside and half inside which was accumulating water near driver seat. I was further told that because of gallery provided for wiring the water travelled to rear seats also. They have repaired this A/C pipe, and extended it with additional pipe so that it never again jumps in the cabin. They have to dismental and re assemble the dashboard since the pipe is under it. Got my car back on sunday evening. Hope the problem is solved. The service was excellent. They were eager to listened to your problem, discussed the probeble cause with you. I don't understand why people are not happy with the service centre. "G3 Motors in Nerul, Navi Mumbai" is very professional. About the milage they told that getting 8.5 to 9 km / lt is good. Eventually when they change the oil during second servicing the avarage will be 10.5 to 11 km / lt. Makes sense.......... | |

| For the rest of us, where exactly is this AC vent pipe, do we need to take a look and see if there is water accumulating on our vehicles, or cabn we safely assume it is a one-off occurance in Macmohan's car?
As far as I know, my car feels dry around the driver's carpet area (AC used 90% of the time)

| The same thing happened to me also last year. But I was sure it was from the flooded water and not from AC. The water was so deep that when buses went past me my car swept sideways due to water waves. The water was literally near the headlights. All the other cars stopped their engine and the local boys pushed those cars for 100 bucks. But did not did not give away. I never need to switch off the engine and I reached my destination without any prob. | |

| Guys always avoid driving in water above your exhaust pipe level. Even the Manual says so. If u do drive in such flooded roads, water is bound to enter from the holes below the carpet. These are for the water to escape from the cabin if it does accumulate by any chance. Also, if u do this more often, the carpet will start smelling too... Avoid it guys.... | |

| Ye From then I am extra careful to avoid places which become flooded easily. I really had a very tough time to dry the carpet. But that was a good test for me to find out how sturdy our Logan was. | |

| Hey hitesh I just put my car under the sun with all the doors opened for 5 hours for 2 days. And that's it. But before that I had to spend almost 4-6 hrs to manually soak the water with a cloth and rinse it and repeat the process. I can still remember I filled up 2 normal buckets with that amount of water I extracted from inside my car. i asked the dealer if they could help out. They said that they will charge around 1000 bucks to pull out the entire carpet and then dry it. | |

| Guys, Yesterday, I had my first experience of driving thru water. Now i know how mumbaikers must be feeling. Bloody hell the sound from below felt like I was on a boat ride. And to mess up things, today morning the car smelt of dead rats !!! Luckily, 30 minutes of open window driving and drying in the sun, and the car seems to be normal again. Now, I really fear what the rains and pooled water can do to cars. | |

| Hi Guys, I am lucky so far, haven't had to drive my Logan thru deep flooded streets, but have driven through 6" deep water though. Everything is still dry ..
When water entered in my earlier car, I would IMMEDIATELY REMOVE all permanent carpeting, my old faithful LOCAL mechanic would do this for me for Rs. 300-400 (simply unbolt seats and remove). You can alternatively get the boys who fit car seats at the accessories shops to do the same (anyday cheaper than at the Service workshop)
Drive WITHOUT carpeting, (you can replace the loose footmats), till monsoon season is WELL over. In late October or so, weather dependant, I would refit the carpeting, which would be left to dry thoroughly on my verandah. Better to have wet smelly carpeting on the verandah than inside the car rusting the car body!
In our kind of weather and bad drainage system, nothing else would do really!

| Monsoons are coming back. And so are some related issues.
This time around, I've noticed some wetness in the boot area. As you know, there are 2 small recess areas (depressions) on either side of the spare tire bay. On the left side depression, I find some wetness after heavy rains.
Initially I thought that it might be due to the replaced Tail lamp on that side. But then, I recollected that I had seen this happen on 2 occasions even last monsoon.
Anyone with similar experience?
