Hi Guys
A month back the timing belt of my mahindra logan 1.4 glx broke during drive. I had been servicing my vehicle at TVS Sundaram Iyengar and sons pvt ltd. Kollam kerala, I don't use this vehicle much, last I gave my car for service in 2014 at the time the odometer showed 74000 km and at the time of the Timing belt break it was 79000 km.
I usually gave my car for service whenever the service center people called me later on I realized that I should give it only at 10000 km run. Anyways during earlier service too the service center person had caused lot of trouble by not properly diagnosing the problem, only after repeated visits to the service center were they able to identify the problem with my vehicle.
My question is shouldn't the service center had informed me about the timing belt change at the time of my visit at 74000 km itself, normally they should have suggested it at 70000 km itself, had that been the case I would not have incurred the amount that I had to spend now.
I spend close to 25000 for timing belt valves etc...
I am copying the part cost here along with that there was additional labour of 8000/-
Does anyone think the service center did mistake in not informing me about the timing belt change at the time of previous service
