| I am an new user of Logan and driving it since last 4-5 months. Before three months my logan was serviced and now I noticed that coolant is going down near to min position.
Is it normal behavior that coolant decrease so quickly in winters.
Please suggest that it is fine if I add water to coolant.

| check the smoke of car ... if the smoke is white, coolant is leaking in the block area due to the leakage in head gasket. Or
Start your car & look for any leakages beneath the car... Hose leakage may be possible.

| The easy way to find out if the head gasket has blown is ! to look at the inside of the OIL filler cap if it has a yellow foam on it then maybe you have a problem BUT !!!!!! Lets get back to the water Just check the water in the morning when cold ! because if you check it when warm it is running round the engine ! while the thermostat has opened and if you put to much water in it something WILL blow ..Dont let it go below minimum I use the rule in between MIN and MAX also read this http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100908115346AAAWSat
This is the same for your oil don't fill it to MAX just keep it to somewhere in the Middle and you will find you NEVER need to top up the oil TRY IT !

| How long does the coolant last. Is it on KMS done or time period? I topped up my coolant during last service and now its below min. I have done 7000 kms in last 5 months post service. | |

| before reading this post i just refilled the coolant tank with 1/2 ltr and went for a drive. There is no change in the coolant level as of now. Will recheck it after a weeks time for any drop.
aside to this, read about the new Honda diesel engine where the coolant change is after 5 yrs or 100000 kms.

| Thanks, Martin for this input, i was wondering why the service adviser today was telling me that, they would drain the coolant out completely and refill, also he told me to get the timing belt changed, as the car was nearing 6 years though it had done only 45,000 on the ODO. | |

| Water in coolant does not work out here. This is what one service adviser (maruti adviser) told me. | |

| Latest update, timing belt is not being changed and they checked the coolant and did top up. No issues with the coolant too. front break shoes were gone, hence they would be changing those. | |
