Service Experience

I was at the Service Center (Sireesh) today with regard to the disk brake. Last service,(60,000Kms) I did clearly notice that the disc had an even surface and the pads were earlier replaced at 55000Kms.
But as I mentioned in a different post the temperature bar jumping to 4 bars by about 4Kms had me worried and when I went to the service center they noticed that the disk had a groove and it had a lip at the outer edge. The vehicle had covered 5000Kms after the service at 60000Kms. I was, therefore, left wondering as to how so much wear and tear could take place in such a short time. The pads were as good as new.
I was told that the disk tends to wear out much faster and sometimes unevenly after a certain degree of wear-out. They said the it could be safely changed at 75,000kms, both the pads and
disk. The cost for both be around Rs5000/- and odd.

Got my Car serviced at 48000+ kms.
Had asked quite a many things to be done after hat recent Wayanad Trip (will post pocs soon)

1. Doors & windows rattling
Fixed

2. Creaking noise from clutch pedal
Cable & Torque rod changed

3. Dashboard rattles
Fixed

4. Interior cleaning
Done

5. Water seepage (recured) near Rr LH Taillamp
Will get to know when it rains next.

6. Towing hook (stolen in last service)
Replaced (but some old used one)

The AC coil should not fail because it is now an electronic part not like the OLD days of a coil
Timing belt does need to be changed until 80 to 90000 Km and also at the same time a new water pump is a good idea Alternator is also no problem by myself and as you know My Logan is used on the High Speed Autobahns of Germany and it goes through Hell
So dont worry get the services done as stated in the Service manual and nothing extra
Spend the extra Money on going on Holiday in Your Logan

I notice thats parts are a little cheaper in Bangalore compared to Kolkata. However, paid service is Rs. 800/- in your bill, while Rs. 1000/- in mine.

And have you never been charged for consumables (Rs. 300 in my bill if you notice)

Its the item describing engine flushing that they did. Its just useless.

Yes I did notice the parts are costlier here. In the service center there is a chart that states the labor charges across different cities based on the cities grade. Please check that in your service center. In Kolkata its specified as Rs 800. For the paid servicing they have not charged anything like consumables yet. But they did rob me off with that engine flushing and decarbonizing fluid.

I am having very serious problem with Wipers and Light.

The wiper on the drivers side is not 90 degree. The top corner left wet, during the heavy raining you can't see. So dangaerous while we are driving in night. Due to this I lost sight of the merdian have an accident. This one I told Logan technical team, as well GMS, MPLS Motors in chennai. they had taken this complaint and promised , once they changing the wiper style i am the first one get replacement. But so far left vein.

Actually this car designed for Left Hand drive. Just for Indian condtions changed driving side.

made it cheaper. without going for engineering Modifications. Including rear LIght for reverse postions wrongly. this is One of the unsafest car.

Tyre worn out in 25000 Km. No answers from them.

I thought the wipers have been modified for right hand drive in India and the reversing light is no real big problem or do you need searchlights at the back You could always have a extra lamp fitted it is easy enough to fit oneself !

So I cannot see your reason for saying this is a unsafe cars and worn tires at 25000 is mostly the Drivers fault
I get at least 40000 from my tires and my car is the same as yours just the wheel on the other side

i am damn sure you are not driving Logan. If you had the Logan definitely you experience the wiper and rear Light. Any One do the Modifications at extra cost. But basic security and safety measure is must and mandatory. Only in india cost is most concern on the car Mfg.

if you are driving logan, I am happy atleast your car modified for right hand drive, all the futures including Indicator and wiper springlers at steering.
