Logan's self replacement

Battery life was over. i replaced it with a new one. working absolutely fine now.

Mine starts fine in the mornings but only hesitates to start back if I stop at a signal when the engine is hot. Did your car too give problems with hot start?

1400 does sometimes mess about on a hot start !Lets say a Very Hot day ! I thin it is to do with the fuel being hot in the injectors but it starts ok >If the Battery is 5 years old though and you get severe winters like we do in Europe you have to change them We ge temperatures like -20 some nights !

@martin245: No it doesn't get too hot or too cold where I am.
Remains around 20-25degrees throughout the year.

And I think if there is fuel getting vaporized in the injectors atleast the car will try to start. In my case, it just gives a tickk tickk noise, with it the rpm and speedo needles sort of vibrate and then after 4-5tries it starts. Happens once in about 10times now, used to happen once in 100 times earlier.

This has never happened on a cold engine in the morning.

Do you mean a Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Noise ! ? this could be a worn mesh on the starter motor solenoid it could be a bit sticky or worn this is the sound of a nearly flat battery or a Knakered Solenoid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytiINK_2SNI

Yeah I am familiar with the sound of a dying battery and its not that sound I am getting. I am afraid it sounds more like the solenoid is sticky or something is worn inside it.

Do you do extreme los of stop and go ?

Yes lately I have been driving in stop and go traffic almost the entire time.

Service centre people are horrible at least for logan they dont know basic things... its advisable to every body here any problem of LOGAN discuss here first & if you dont get solution then go to garage
AND ONLY BASIC FREE SERVICE SHOULD BE PERFORMED AT AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE TO AVAIL WARRANTIES & THERE AFTER YOU CAN GET YOUR LOGAN SERVICED AT GARAGE OF YOUR CHOICE

@ Chetan, yes Mahindra service centers know nothing about Logan however, our choices for service are limited because logan spares are not available outside the Mahindra workshops. Mahindra does not even sell spares unless you bring the car to them and get the part fitted there.

thats right they dont sell spares without car!!!!!

My logan is serviced only twice at Silver Jubilee & twice at Sahyadri motors so as to have clear record of free services but there after i didnt visited any of them for servicing or any part replacement . However none of any spare part is till today needed replacement (28000 km) except rear name plate bulb holder .that could not find in local spare part shops .

Servicing is a real issue.
I wish Renault should have retained the servicing part for already sold Logan cars instead of handing over to Mahindra.
Few main issues I face with the service people.

1. No time spent on diagnosing the issue correctly
2. Workaround solutions suggested
3. Parts like rear view mirror, tail lamps, head lamps etc. not handy and take couple of days to arrive. Other engine parts take longer than couple of days.
4. At time of delivery after servicing, vehicle is not cleaned properly and has some grease marks in the interior and some others on the exterior which upon pointing out they do clean but the overall delivery is not upto the mark where you get the vehicle back with a good shine on it.
5. Service center not interested in doing color/dent jobs. Always advise to drive more and get things done at one go when there are more dents. Strange!!!! Kind of they anticipate that there would be more dents each time. Post this as a part of personal analysis I somehow saw more Logans with dents than any other cars around.
