Logan (P) 1.6 - 2007 model- Alternator

Hi ,

I recently gave my Logan petrol 1.6 for servicing as it has some noise coming in from engine.

Mahindra workshop said its a problem with alternator, and need to check to know exact problem

1. They said it needs servicing to be done and would cost 15000 and new alternator will cost 34000

2. General servicing with oil change wheel balancing 8500

3. Need change in rear wheel cyclinder bearing 3650

4. Spark plug cleaning 1200

5, Recommends changing timing belt as it has been used for many years.

How much of this are true i am not sure.. Can someone give some reply on this

What mileage has the car how old is the car Is the back brake leaking look behind the wheel for oil and is your red light flickering on and off If not I cannot see why a new alternator ?

Mileage is like roughly 10 -12. Car model is of 2007.
I dont see oil behind wheel and even no flickering of red light.

As per the work shop, The noise coming in the car was from alternator and service charges for it is 14000.

To my surprise, I crosscheck the price and servicing charge for alternator from Mahindra 1st choice
They quoted me price of 14000 for new alternator.
For servicing they said depends on how much damage is on alternator and if it can be fixed by servicing

So i dont know if i am being fooled ? I am not sure how to go ahead with it..

Go to a electrician and ask him to measure the electricity coming from the Alternator is it making a squealing noise???
if so get some soap or even candelwax  and just hold it to the inside of the Alternator belt for a second and see if the noise goes away 
it would be a good idea to explain to us the noise is a Squeal a crunching or a grinding noise ?
