| Hi guys,
I recently changed my JK tires with the Yokohama A drive tires, inflate them with 30 PSI , since Yoko are softer tires does it require more PSI for better milage?
I guess, need to tinker with the tire pressure and find the right balance, could any one guide me?

| Hi Siddharth,
The best place to know how much tire pressure to maintain, is from the shop where you purchased it. I am assuming you have got your wheel balanced and aligned after fitting the new tires. The same people can tell you about the tire pressure.
Stock JK Vectra tires come with a recommendation of 29PSI. When I changed over to BS Turanza, the same person told me to keep it at 32PSI owing to the composition of the tire.
Hope it helps. Surya | |

| Hey Siddharth,
I bought A-drives 3 months ago and i must admit they are the best tires i have ever had. Will tell you what i follow. In general, i put 32psi when i am alone or if there is someone with me. When there are more than 3 people, i put 34psi and it performs better. Thats good for fuel economy as well. Besides grip remains super!!!!

N Hi adamkathy23,Thanks for your reply.Does the car not bounce after filling in 32 PSI? I am just asking never filled in 32 PSI but shall try definitely, I feel to find the right balance one needs to tinker around till one finds the best output desired. I had asked the tire shop from where I made the purchase, who informed me that 30 PSI would be the best. Somehow I do not agree with him, To narrate today’s incidence where I had only driven about 20 km while going to a social function ( with the ac set on the second blue dot and the petrol tank fully filled in yesterday, with four ppl in the car) I was shocked to see two bars from the fuel indicator empty . This got me thinking, was the tank fully filled in , or was it due to Yoko being softer tires it required a higher PSI than 30. I am at a loss to understand 02 bars from the fuel indicator getting empty for just 20 odd km. Must admit that there was traffic on the NH 8 highway due to some police bandobast, but still not justified.Have you or any one experienced such a scare??

Hope it helps. Surya Thanks Surya,I shall have this done right away, yes you are right Yoko being softer tires would need more pressure, but the fear of a tire burst held me back in filling 32psi. Yes the composition play a crucial part, JK tyres are hard tyres and depending on the composition of the tyres hence required 29 PSI.Wheel balancing was done upon the tyre change. I have just narrated a drastic change in the fuel efficiency in my post may be this has got to do with the 30 psi that I inflated the tyres with. Have also have a post on the difference in breaking that I noticed with the Yoko tyres, suggestions and experience sharing will put one at ease.
