| I am returning after a long gap. My Verito has done 13000 in 8 months in all types of weather and roads and is going strong. I am getting 18 Km/Ltr in city and 23 to 24 Kms/Ltr on highways. Sometimes even more. It is a good car and I am fully satisfied. Only Mahindra people in Shimla do not know how to wash the car. Very funny. So I purchased a pressure pump and my peon does a better job of washing my car. If one handles this car properly, then one will not find any problem. Good luck. | |

so any one using logan for past 2 or three year or more, please help me out. Does its body goes all over the place like the indica or indigo??? what about its engine performance over a long period>>?? I do not understand why you have a concern regarding the Logan going into a bad shape! And that too being a new buyer. My Logan is 4.5 yrs old now. And it can still teach many a cars even from upper segments on some road behaviour. I'm not saying its the best, but it definitely is well worth for what I paid. The body will stay where it is supposed to stay. Put your concerns at bay and enjoy your drive. - drkeshav wrote:

If one handles this car properly, then one will not find any problem. Good luck. Nice to see you back Dr.Keshav, After 4.5 yrs, my logan still gives me 18kmpl in cuty with AC ON 95%. My highway mileage has come to 18-20. Not that the car has changed. Its just my driving habit. From my earlier speeds of ~100 I have moved up to 125-135 :-p That in actual would be around 110-120. If I manage to drive between 80-100, it can still juice out 25kmpl. Regarding Mahindra Service, I agree completely. Those guys need to get their basics right. I do not want a delight. Just crisp service as per request.

| I have couple of friends who also use Logan and the main issue is with Clutch . Its very hard, dont know if overseas models have the same problem. I have replaced 3 clutch cables in last 3 years . Except for Clutch its a wonderful vehicle. Got the best engine of its class, great mileage and very good handling:) . | |

| I think this is because your Clutch goes a different rout than ours does in Europe Because we sit on the other side of the car and our clutch cable will not be as long as yours Try and re route it from where it come out and try and have as less bends as possible TRY AND ROUT IT OVER THE ENGINE !!! This should take away a couple of Bends | |

| Unfortunately, I do not think anyone (me included) would be willing to try that out. I'd rather let it be. It's not a pain for sure and is definitely livable with. Whatsay? | |

I'd rather let it be. It's not a pain for sure and is definitely livable with. Whatsay? Hell no. its a pain for sure. i have had acute tendonitis because of this hard clutch ( it bacame hard as early as 15000km . My condition became so bad i could barely walk. i drive around 2000 to 2500km each month. I have changed the clutch since then and now things are better. but my Achilles heel yet hurts. For such a wonderfully short clutch travel , its been one of the worst clutch i have used. What martin said is true. i thought of that but the location of the clamp would prevent the cable to have shorter route. ( or any route over engine as it would mean even acute bend before the lock. )

| I guess then I'm still lucky with my route demanding less interference with the clutch. I hope it stays that way. | |

i do not think its to do with your route really. its not as if i was riding the clutch or something. it should've been hydraulic setup no two ways about it. It gets hard with very little usage or time as well. cable clutch is going to get hard earlier. or valeo has not done a good job. i have put a 'luk' made one ( germany not the JV with rane ). let see how long does this last.

| I've had my clutch cable changed 3 times in the last almost 5 yrs of ownership. The 1st change was when the car was almost 4 yrs as there was creaking noise when depressing the pedal. The new cable was not all that good and was changed by the dealer in a week's time. Have stayed with that ever since.
The clutch no doubt is harder than most other diesel cars. But I am yet to have a problem with that.

| i got my clutch cable changed again @ avis motors yesterday with 36900km on the odo. improvement but still creaks a bit when the vehicle has run a bit. logan has one of the hardest clutches as compared to Manza, ertiga, dezire.
cable cost is 833/ plus taxes plus 250 rs labour plus taxes.
