| i twice had... 1. I had to withdraw cash. In front of the ATM is a single cement barricade which stands alone and barely visible. It is approx 1 and half foot tall and may be quarter a foot wide. I was at some 10 kmph when the car suddenly had a nice bang with which it halted. I was a bit shocked and anticipated a radiator blast in front with this kind of bang. I opened the door to have a check. What i saw amused me. The bang was on the front bumper, the barricade which then stood upstraight now stands 45 degrees tilted. Just after the bang the bumper lost its shape a bit with bruises towards it bottom part which faces the road. It was regaining its shape on its own while i was still looking at it. And guess what in some couple of minutes it regained its earlier shape and form. There was no crack on the bumper. Some bruises were there with most facing the road. Apart from this there was no other damage. Thank god the speed was a mere 10 kmph.
2. I was getting out of a building parking. The parking has a 35 degree slope to get out of the low levelled parking gound. Slope might be 20 foot long. Slope is such that on both left and right of it there is no ground. Now immediately after moving out of the slope i had to take a reverse as some other vehicle was parked right in front of the exit gate such that i could not move without a reverse. I missed the fact that if my car goes a little right or left it could derail the slope completely with one of its rear wheels hanging in air. Having misjudged the slope i was hanging with my left rear wheel in air. This was a bigger bang as i had passengers too on rear sit. I literally felt the shock on my hands which were on steering. I anticipated that i broke my axle for sure. This time i was more of nervous rather than shocked. I opened the door to have a check. I saw that the car is nicely sitting on the rear shock absorber lower part. i noticed that the lower part of shock absorber had a strong metal guard kind of thing which i guess if i am not wrong is specially designed for such instances. Well no noticable damage exists. I went back to driver seat to get this out. Now it wont get out that easily. i revved but in vain. So then i followed good old 4x4 technique. While revving and stopping i constantly kept moving the steering left to right so that my front wheels gain a bit of traction and it worked taking me out.
Fortunately no expense was incurred in either of them.
However i got a wheel balancing done at second servicing, as i felt the second instance had misbalanced the wheels a bit.

| I have been driving since 1969 and I can honestly say that I have only had one Accident in all that time When a Bus drove into the back of my Ford Taunus 17m causing a rightoff .and otherwise NOTHING .I dare to say this is due to my defensive form of driving which is treat all other drivers on the road near you as complete idiots .This way you will expect anything (most things ) that can happen ,and when all drivers drive this way .Then the roads will be a safer place .I was also in the Army a Truck driving instructor .and I have licences for ALL vehicles including Tanks (Not that I will be driving them again hahahah) TRY IT GUYS ........Be nice ,Drive nice ,Be safe,Drive safe | |

| I had my 1.4 banged into by a new driver who likes to park the car next to mine. This one banged into the front left fender and door leaving 2.5 feet long dent and a scratch. I got the denting and painting job done at the service center. It cost me (or rather the friendly neighbourhood driver ) Rs 5736/- | |

| I was in this situation where an SX4 in front of me braked real hard @ about 50 kmph. He was with ABS and I had very little stopping distance. I went straight into his rear.
Apparently, he had already met with an accident few days back and his car was in a bad shape as it it.
Suffered a broken windshield & disfigured bumper. The bumper went inside along with front grill. Luckily I pulled it out myself and it possed back in shape, except the holding joints, which got sheared a little.
Glass had to be replaced, which I got covered under Insurance.
Burnt 2900 rupees in the whole process.

| guys.. i feel good to see this thread.. i would have defined Logan mishaps as situations where a Logan has let you down.. however, all the posts I see here are accidents that could have happened with any car, any where.. in fact some of the cases clearly point out to the strength of Logan.. that's why I feel good | |

Strangely, Logen only had a dent(i ll say again), Only a dent in the rear bumper.... My wife doesnt like my car but after seeing the accident is happy that its a safe car........ N

| Two months before one vehicle similar to TATA ace ( The one which carries load) without any load at the back hit me in a signal when I was waiting for the signal to turn green.
I got down, locked my car and went and saw in back, I found my Logan back bumper slightly dislocated. But the TATA ace left head light and indicator was broken and its metal body suffered good dent.
The damages suffered in my logan are, 1) Slightly dislocated back bumper, It still remains so --> Service center replaced the holding plastic part but it remains dislocated. Note that Logan back bumper is held by small plastic clips, so that in event of back hit, the holders will break and bumper will not suffer damage.
2) Barely noticeable very very small dent in dicky. You cannot see it normally, but need to see it very carefully
I guess since I was not holding on to brakes very hard at the signal, when that idiot hit from behind, my car would have just moved and the force just got converted to movement.
But definitely TATA ace looked as if it had a big hit by hitting Logan
