| I get a noise from under the hood on applying breaks while reversing. This 'Thak' like noise comes mostly when starting from stationary condition. It tends to subside after applying the break a few times. The problem was reported twice , the last time being during the 3rd service last month. These people are obviously not able to diagnose the problem. They said it's due to the callipers.. and some greasing should solve the problem... it obviously has not. Has anybody faced a similar problem before ? What could be the reason for the noise ?.... your help would be much appreciated. | |

| This can happen with Disk Brakes the pads move a bit on reversing as they do not fit extrmly tight or they could not work .In my eyes this is normal | |

| Thanks Stuart... much appreciated... it does seem like the pads or something are moving a bit... the breaking is normal except for the noise. the service engineers should know these things ! | |

| I had a similar problem. Its caused due to the bent metal plate between the front tires underneath. Get it removed, Hammered and straightened out. Problem will go away.

| Hi Adam,
Some good braking technique for you..no offense...I have found this site very good for learning the theoretical aspects of driving...the same can be mastered by practice... try to do rev matching as much as possible while you are driving..this is good for your car as well as for the braking...links below...

| Hi Martin,
This was not intended for you. However, just for your information, learning has no age. But, it seems that you don't have the humility to accept the same. Request you to refrain from offensive posts in a public forum. It is really surprising that you don't have the minimum etiquette of addressing a public forum. Try to learn the same.

| If you dont like what I post then think about what YOU post I am not ...in fact nobody is going to learn how to drive the cars from silly rally websites What you have posted is for Racing or Rally driving and this is exactly the type of stuff which younger drivers read and go out and try and wrap up there non rally Logans.and as for minimum etiquette .I will not answer you on that one regards AND on the first Posting it wasnt directed at Adam ! You have edited that in not that Adam will like being told how to drive his car !!! But what the hell

| Dear Martin,
I have never came across such an intolerable and rude person like you in my entire life. It seems that you have started considering yourself as a dictator of this forum trying to force what someone should like or not.The basics of driving, whether it is street, rally or race always remain the same. There is no need to reinventing the wheel in every other form of driving. Regarding etiquette, better not to speak about the same. You doesn't seem to be worthy of it. Furthermore, a person who feels every other person is silly is actually the silliest person. But anyway, there is no use of telling something to you, it's like banging head against the wall.
Regards, Kaustuv. | |

| guys getting back to the real issue. I reported a noise in breaking while reversing. I again reported the problem to the service centre. This time my name was missing from the appointment list and they turned me back because of unusual absenteeism. I had serious argument with the delears, which lead to a meeting with the service GM. The car was then checked by the service GM and the workshop head. They have confirmed that the noise is not from the break but the front suspension. Although they have asked for more time to analyse and resolve the problem. I have an appointment on coming saturday... will keep the forum posted. | |
