| Hello Everybody,
I have read that the fuel tank capacity is 50 ltr's. I have three Questions in my mind. 1) I wanted to verify from you all that, is it 50 ltr's or is it more? 2) What is the reserve capacity ? 3) When does the Fuel Empty Warning indicator start to blink?

| Sometime back I attended the Logan customer meet and one of the persons there mentioned that he has filled his tank upto 65 ltrs. Not sure what to make of it. Probably a good amount of space is allowed for expansion and that may be the reason it is mentioned in the handbook not to fill after the gun cuts off twice. | |

| As far as i know, irrespective of petrol or diesel, all Logans have 50 liter fuel capacity. Also overfilling can cause load on vehicles emission control system. I have read cases where the owners ended up with quite some repair charges just because the tank was overfilled. Though none of the case was for Logan. I could only say, all discourage this. 1) I wanted to verify from you all that, is it 50 ltr's or is it more? Recommended capacity would be of 50 litres. Though it could accomodate more, but that space is technically allocated.
2) What is the reserve capacity ? I have experieced that even after the DIS shows ZERO bars on fuel guage and kms that can be run shows ZERO, I was able to drive for another 30 kms to the nearest pump. 30 kms for me means something around 2.7 liters of fuel.
3) When does the Fuel Empty Warning indicator start to blink? For me the fuel warning glows up when i have just one bar left on fuel guage which is very near to dropping to ZERO.

| In India i suspect with your hot weather it is not a good idea to overfill as in the heat the tank will expand and fuel will come out of the vapour release not a good idea if some kid decides to throw a cigarette under the car ypou can get a good 3 ltrs in the filler PIPE | |

| With no bar filled up I was once able to drive almost twice from my home to office i.e around 60 kms. That comes out to about 4 lt of fuel for me | |

| Reserve fuel is usually not mentioned in absolute numbers by manufacturers. But you will find that all vehicle manufacturers maintain 8-10% of the tank capacity as the reserve qty. | |

| I usually fill from a single particular petrol pump and stop at the auto cutoff. Typically, when the LOW FUEL INDICATOR comes on, I can fill anywhere between 42 - 44, depending on how long I drive after the red light has comes on. So, in normal circumstances where we are NOT FILLING the tank to the brim, there is about 7-8 Litres remaining until we get to the 50L mark, and some more in reserve after that. And that reserve amount, I leave to someone else to experiment and find out,... | |

| I always refill when it reaches the last bar, and i am able to fill 42 to 44 liters of fuel, never see the low fuel indicator come on as i never drive on reserve, with Indian diesel its always better to keep the tank above reserve and drive , as all the impurities and dirt will settle at the bottom, regularly driving on reserve fuel in Indian conditions can cause problems.
So i avoid the same ... | |

| absolutely correct. if fuel has to be refilled it can be refilled anytime. then why not earlier and why wait for red lights, unless in helpless situations. | |

| Hi All, I always Refil when it comes to last Bar, but last week i filled when the Yellow fuel light lit up, it has taken 50 Liters to fill the tank, i think it had a reserve fuel of 8 to 10 liters, that makes the tank capacity to 60 Liters. Dharma. | |

| well someone who has driven on reserve and filled the fuel tank can give a clearer picture, but as various members have posted, fuel tank capacity should be around 55 liters including the reserve if not more.
I know more fuel can be filled but i am taking a safer estimate as Mir has also suggested overfilling the tank causes load on vehicles emission control system.

| Accoring to the after sales representative who comes to explain the car function of newly pruchased car, there is 13litres of reserve fuel capacity after the low fuel warning indicators gets on. in my 1.6GLX, I stated the trip meter exactly at the time of fuel warning light getting ON. I could run the car comfortable for 80KM, beyond that I didn;t want to take risk. with the mileage of 13~14 in my car which means it definitely has 6~7 Litre in reserve. I asked many guys in service center, they were all unaware. I fact I'm eager to test to full reserve capacity some day by keeping some 2 litres of petrol in Boot and running to complete dry state of the tank. | |

| Hey guys as I said I'm a crazy guy, I just tested the full reserve capacity after the low fuel indicator gt ON, I immediately set the trip meter and did not fill any fuel and started using the vehicle, Last time I ran the car on reserve for 80KM, this time I ran it to full tank dry, trip meter reading was 129 KM, my 1.6 GLX generally gives a mileage of 13KMPL in city, hence the capacity after reserve is Exacty 10 litre. My car just halted mid of the road and I got down and was filling up 2litres of fuel in the bottle, It was looking a bit weird but I;m satisfied that I found out the correct reserve capacity, I suppose its the same for all 1.4 / 1.6 - Petrol / Diesel | |

| fuel tank is the same across all Logans.
I also noticed that when the fuel light goes on there are still 10 liters in the tank.
This is because every time i top up soon after the red light, it comes to somewhere around 40 liters. Immediately after that the trip meter shows that i have around 49 liters.
So my finding says fuel light lits up once it sees only 10 liters left.
