| It has been 2 months since I got my Logan and have already had 3 punctures in the same tire (front right).
And this was not a safe "tubeless" puncture. You could actually hear the tire deflating rapidly. There was a puncture even on the inner wall of the tire!
This is very shocking. I drove a run down maruti 800 on the same roads for 4 years and did not have a single puncture.
Any idea what the warranty terms on the tire are? Could this be a manufacturing defect?

| This is really a surprise. I was in a long trip, had a puncture on the front left tyre and still was able to survive another 1000 KM just by filling in air may be at an interval of every 250Km's. I feel this may be any manufaturing defect, or , your innerwall of the tyre has got a cut (usually happens if your car hits a pothole at high speeds). If your tyre has a cut (and not a puncture) you have no other options than to change it. Repairing is pretty unsafe. In case this is not the case you definitely should contact your dealer. Belive me buddy tubeless tyres are the safest bet around usually. | |

| A new tyre has superior grip when compared to older tyres. Hence it can pick up nails and other things off the road quiet easily. Example, small stones/gravel get lodged in the tyres easily when its new. I have had a huge screw puncture my '800s' tyre and could hear the screw hit the road with each revolution. Only after I stopped the car did the air presssure come down completey. Its a little puzzling as to why you had 3 punctures on the same tyre. Did it happen on the same stretch of road? A sidewall cut could be due to different reasons. You could speak to the dealer about the warranty but I have my own doubts about being offered a replacement tyre. Please do not use a tyre with sidewall cut. | |

| Thank you guys. Will look at getting a replacement.
Also, is it ok to put a tube in a tubeless tire? This was the immediate suggestion given by my service contact when I talked to him.
He says since it is a new vehicle, you can use the spare tire as your main one without problems and use the damaged tire with a tube as spare.

| You can put in a tube and use it as spare but its still very risky if the sidewall is damaged. You never know when your luck runs out. | |

| Also a tube deflates very rapidly when compared to a tubeless setup. | |

| I guess it all depends on how badly the tire is damaged.
I have never had a tube deflate as rapidly as the tubeless deflated. And it was loud enough for the people on the road to shout "puncture!! puncture!!" at us.
Will definitely get it replaced soon.

| It might be above Rs3300/- and also depending on the brand. I heard the Michelin XM series are good but a little expensive. You could consider other brands as well. | |

| Also make sure you have a tubeless repair kit in your car at all times. 'SARVESHWARI SARV SEAL' is a good brand. Unfortunately you can't order it via the web | |

| Hey it is sad to know abt your case.. It has happened with me too.. My right tyre has got punctured 3-4 times in a year but cant really blame the manufacturers as i drive all aropund the city and occasionally outstation too.. Neways, theres also a kinda lump in its sidewall, it was good enough to get a replacement by my local tyre vendor noticed a cut along the lump which indicates that it hit some pointed object on the road hard... So no luck...
Neways, if u are keen on getting a new tyre, please buy the same brand and model.. its not a good habit to have different tyres. Good for u that u have a GLSx and not a lower version as the lower models have a different colored(black) spare wheel wich makes it difficult to use as a regular...

| Alright, for some reason I was thinking about the replacement of the entire set of tyres. If one tyre has to be replaced then please replace it with the same brand as the other four. | |

Any idea what the warranty terms on the tire are? Could this be a manufacturing defect? A manufacturing defect highly unlikely. But do check with your dealer, you might get lucky. Most probably they will say that this happened due to external impact i.e. you must have ridden on a bad/potholed road carelessly etc etc. You can put a tube in a tubeless tyre, but I would recommend that you replace the tyre. In case, you are thinking of changing the whole set, i would recommend michelins or yokohama.

| I am just back from a 1800 km trip to Udipi from Chennai. The roads between bangalore and Udipi simply don't exist in quite a few patches (especially in the ghats). Have to drive on rocks and dug up roads. I did not have any problems with the tyres.
The multiple puncturing happened on relatively much better roads in Chennai.
