Clutch peddle of the Vehicle is very hard. Same i posted on the Mahindara site but no response. Every othrt month i have to re- adjeust. Mahindra -Logan team is not customer oriented as compare to other Car makers. I think they are still at the same level of Jeep. This is my opinion.

The clutch was very hard on all the demo and test vehicles I drove. But after I got my car, it was really really soft.. even more easier than my old Maruti 800.

I haven't noticed any change yet.. but I've only driven some 1500KM.

The clutch may get hard since its a cable one and not hydraulic! The clutch cable is changed under warranty so go ahead and complain!!

My Logan's clutch is smooth and juicy, much better than Maruti 800. I have never had any problem on that.

Check if the cable is bent abnormally i,e almost at right angle. If the bend is gradual, its okay. If it seems normal then you need to raise the issue with the service center.

exactly Rajeeshnamb this is a problem and then it breaks
let someone press the clutch in and out and someone should feel the cable for scraping

I have a very tight clutch too. Ive done about 10000 kms and the car is about 6 months old (DLX). Complained twice but no change. I get pain in my knee when I drive in traffic. Service folks say that logan diesel had a slghtly toucgher clutch than the petrol version...

If you are experiencing knee pain change your seating position. Pull the seat seat back to such an extent that you have to almost stretch your leg completely while depressing the clutch. I too feel the clutch is a bit hard at times.

I got the clutch cable replaced and find it to be much better now. However I still wouldnt call it perfect - it still is tight as compared to other vehicles.

I agree. LOgan vehicles have a harder clutch than others. The xtent to which the clutch needs to be depressed is more.I tried telling the service guys a couple of time but not of much avail.

The best way to avoid the knee pain is making an adjustment of the seat height and pull behind.

No clutch problems on my 13 month & 12K km old DLX and none in my uncle's DLX either. Both cars have a light pedal.

Make a note of the floor mat around the clutch pedal ... there is a slight depression. If you are pushing with your full foot (like in Maruti, etc) you will be actually pressing against the mat instead of putting all your foot pressure on the pedal. The last part of clutch press needs to be more of toe pressure.

is this the real problem?

could be.. we had touched upon this in some previous posts... i personally think that lest bit where the clutch pedal sort of goes into a pocket is the problem... and i have found that Logan clutches (have driven 3) are hard in the first part of the depress action... wonder why?

Go to the showroom and compare clutch action on the other Logans available to see if the action is any different.

Experiment can also be carried out in the workshop

In a different topic I had mentioned that after the water wash the clutch had become extremely hard.
They did open up the assembly and lubricate it and replaced the cable too and now it is 'SUPER SOFT and SMOOTH'.

PostSubject: Hard Clutch   Mon Dec 06, 2010 4:18 pm

Hi,

I have seen many posts in the web regarding hard clutch of Logan DLS.
Does any one have a solution for it?

I have all ready changed the clutch wire couple of time and lubricated the whole clutch system. again after driving 1000+ km the clutch becomes hard.

Still any body facing this issue? do we have any fix for this problem Or people are tired of complaining about it.

I am happy about the vehicle accept the leg muscles building hard clutch.

Regards,
Nagaraj.

same with me as well and for last 3+ years. No solution till now. Changing cable is not an option as it gets hard again in few days.

Damn long clutch cable (~2+ mtr) is the problem.

I heard from sales person that new clutch is Hydraulic..Not sure how to verify it..read owners manual and no mention about clutch type..
I did not feel much difference between Zen and Logan clutch..May be since it is new, it may feel light..need to wait and see if the problem occurs in my car too..But praying that this does not occur Rolling Eyes

Hard clutch is common in Logan. There is no recommendable solution for this issue. I have changed the clutch cable and it is still hard.

I find it good to press hard on a clutch... its that initial jam, then its smoother.

Infact i had a creeeky accelerator cable when ibought the car. The cable was getting stuck and once in a traffic stop, my acclerator cable got stuck and the car got roaring away... i had switch off the engine and then push it a side, ending up with a huge traffic pile behind me on the busy Ring Rd here in bangalore marathahalli. The service center told me thats its just fine nowthing to worry etc, but then i forced to replace it and ever since God's grace things are fine
