| I have a DLX and I have been finding the clutch to be very tight. I have done about 5000kms and the vehicle is about 4 months old. I have had this right from the beginning and was not rectified during my 1st service as well. I dont drive much in traffic but when i do, I really feel the strain on my legs.
Anybody else faced similar problems/ solutions??

Anybody else faced similar problems/ solutions?? I think so shouldn't be. I have very light clutch. Maybe your service have to lubricate the clutch release cable.

| I got it done and the service rep told me that the clutch cable had been replaced. I see no change at all. I start having aches in my leg if I drive in traffic for 30 minutes. My 2nd service is due next month and am planning to take this up seriously. | |

| So what I am thinking is to change the clutch system from manual wired to hydraulic (i think it can be done) after I found avery interesting topic on TBHP (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/technical-stuff/21028-pros-cons-hydraulic-clutch.html). Do you guys know anybody around you who can do this conversion, even I can opt for hyraulic system from other old cars as well? There is one more option available is the Auto Clutch, which makes your car a clutch free semi automatic car, where you dont need to press clutch padal. It has sensors which controls clutch by pressing depressing at various RPM/Speed and break sentivity. some feedback can be found at http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifications-accessories/1952-anyone-used-automate.html Also I sent a mail to one such person who do the auto clutching and he quoted 30K for that I think conversio to hyraulic one will solve the problem and yes the hydraulic clutches are more reliable and effective. | |

| guys i understand that lots of tech is available. but is it all tried and tested. also is it something that company approves for.
clutch is very crucial part in the engine. i would not rather fiddle with it. i may be sounding wierd or orthodox but this is what i really feel.
i have used cars with hydraulic clutch system and really not a big difference between wired an hydraulic.
i have been through a situation where the hydraulic clutch has failed in a running car without any warning. In traffic it becomes really risky situation to handle the machine whose clutch has failed. If it was wired i would have either replaced the wire or tightened it or something of that sort with some local mechanic asking him to do what i would have felt best to do in those circumstances.
though i do not say that hydraulic clutch is useless. it was the cars fault as the clutch system had grown quite old and needed a complete change. The part which controls how much fluid to pass broke and local mechanic cant replace anything in that unless some experts perform the task. Bigger headache in that engine was to be able to reach to that part first the engine has to be lifted. So lots of issues. It was a Mitsubishi Gallant Diesel.
as far as i understand logan's one of the purposes is to be easy to be repaired.

| I wish if I could get hydraulic clutch system from Logan MCV, as its made for Logan and working. Well I am not agree that hyraulics fail such a way, if this then most of the car mechanics will fail, becuase hydraulics are the building blocks of a car. You have a hydraulic breaks, accl, ABS, power steering. If clutch can fail then break also, assume a situation. Guys hydraulics probably the most trusted and powerful technology developed and yes about wires or cable clutch, you may have ad earlier experience with bikes and sccoters where cable tends to break very easily, and yes it can also freeze, loose, harden, broken anything. The only purpose of not putting a hydraulic clutch is just simple cost cutting only. And yes we are here talking about a clutch for Diesel cars only not the petrol once. petrol once are very lighter than D once. | |

| Yes the MCV has a Hydraulic clutch but it would be one BIG job to fit it In fact i bet the master cylinder for the clutch is also the same as the master brake cylinder or on the same assembly this is normal practise The Photo was given to US froma very friendly DACIA LOGAN FORUM FROM GERMANY | |
