PostSubject: Heating gaze is going up   Tue Dec 20, 2016 9:01 pm

Hello friends,
Since a couple of week I am facing a new problem in my car. I have noticed that heating gaze is going up and simultaneously coolant is overflowing from the storage tank cap.
I took it to authorized service station, and after diagnosed it they tell me there is problem with 'Head Gas Kit' and need to change it. Thought possibilities of some work of head also need to do if any problem found there as well.
The cost of 'Gas Head Kit' work around 20k and head work also need to do it it will be 80k.

All suggestion are welcome. Please guide me about it.

These are now the problems that we face with our Logan's as support from Mahindra is non-existent at least in Delhi. Horrible amount of charges for repair's.

Coming to the problem, if the car's head gasket has blown then there should be coolant seeping into your engine and mixing with engine oil. Head gasket can go bad if one runs the engine even when it is getting overheated. If the car is not given for repairs then you can try and check yourself on mixing of oil and water, which should be visible in coolant storage reservoir.

Reasons for engine heating are various but mainly it can be due to faulty water pump, coolant thermostat valve gets faulty and remains shut, leakages in cooling system.

Definitely head gasket if the coolant is being forced out of the bottle
