| Hello friends, I have 1.4 GLE. I am experiencing a problem that the instrument panel shows the engine temperature going up beyond normal. 4 bars is the normal. Sometimes it goes up to 6 bars usually in very slow start stop traffic. This happened even in winters also. Interestingly, I have to open the ac vent and turn on the fan without the AC and the instrument panel shows normal temp in few minutes! With AC on, the temperature does not go beyond normal, yet. I just had the coolant changed, ( 2 liter red coolant, remaining water). It made no difference. It seems that by just leaving the vent open and circulating fan on, I can manage the engine temp.! I wonder if there is some problem in instrument cluster? does anyone have any experience with such a problem? Can anyone recommend a mechanic/workshop in South Delhi or Ghazaibad for Logan.
thanks and best wishes pankaj

| how far up is it going ? and is the electrical cooling fan turning on and off ? If yes i would really say dont worry mine gets to 4 or 5 bars and thats in the winter ahhhhh have a look at your radiator it could be clogged up with pollen and leaves you can wash this off with a hose pipe
This could also be a thermostat sticking

This could also be a thermostat sticking It does go up to 6. very rarely all the way up - 8 bars. There is no affect on functioning of engine. I have noted that the fan starts and stops, normal. However, on few occasions, I stopped (idled) the car and opened the bonnet to check if the fan was working. and NO. it was not. But I know the fan does start & stop. Most noticably, it will start few minutes after I have parked it and gone home. I come back to find the fan working. :-) I wonder if there is a problem with Thermostat or the cables which go from thermostat to fan. Is the fan working governed by ECM? thanks & regard pankaj

| I would say Its OK !! Keep your eye on the water level and your OIL !!! The fan does stay on after turning off this stops a heat sink ! thats normal as well and lets not forget you are in a hot country It could be a good idea to sit the car running with the heaters turned on (I bet you never use them eh ) turn them on for a couple of minutes when its hot just to clear those channels .In slow stop start traffic its normal for the motor to get very hot because there is no wind so it gets hot and produces its own wind with the fan | |

| Hi I did use the heater all winter and noticed that with the heater on and blower working, the temp stayed normal. in fact, if the temp went up, turning on the heat and blower cooled the car. I went to Shiva Motors for a check up. The service advisor was more interested in driving my car very fast and very rough. what a fool.
I am now not going to worry about the temp. indicator going up. :-)
