Buying a second hand single diven Logan. Please suggest!!

Hi, I've recently joined the forum since am planning to buy a second hand Logan from one of my uncle. My uncle has a Logan 2008 Model, 1.5 DLX, single hand driven, 90,000 done.

He is actually our tenant and rent a office in our home and the car used to be there at our home only. The condition of the car is good and now he is planning to buy Duster also recently purchased a Cruze, hence he is selling out his Logan now. Still the car gives 20kms/l of avg. He gave an add in Olx for 3,00,000 yesterday. We also approached him and he is ready to give us in 2,50,000 being knowers.

Should I buy this.? Am concerned about its service since read some reviews on websites that it has poor service and expensive though. Also some of the reviews that after 1L kms car behaves poor. Is it true??? I reside is Jaipur. PLEASE SUGGEST TO BUY OR NOT ??

Rs.2,50,000/- is good deal. Just do one thing .Conduct a scan/ dignosis of the computer & then you will realise what sensor problems/ replacement there are to be done right now. Do it & get peace of mind.

It won;t be much costly. may be Rs.1200 for whole car diagnosis.

and dont forget this car NOW needs Timing Belt and water pump change !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, thats why i'm looking forward to buy it. Thanks i would definitely conduct a diagnosis for it. Should that be done in a ASC or Outer Garage??

As per the uncle, all the services is been done in ASC till yet. Single driven by him. Outer body has few of scratches here n there..and are visible being Black ..But look forward to give it to a paint job/ polish.
As far as engine and interiors are concerned, they are well maintained by him. But definitely i'll make-up our point too.

Stu, as per him the timing belt was already changed around 60k-70k in there odo reading when it was given for the service as mentioned in the manual. I actually didn't know, just believing his words as he takes good care of the car and has done proper servicing.


Now the car odo reads around 97k. Should it still be changed now?


What else should be taken care off ???

Have a complete a/c servicing after purchase of car which will cost rs.3000/- Look out for any uneven treadwear on tyres & get it corrected. This may cause becuase of fault in suspension or improper wheel alignment.

Paint lineup in India is different from other destinations. Here, Mahindra has common colours across the range. So it will not be an apple-to-apple comparison with other countries.

These people say their product is DIY one. Have tried googling reviews on them and found them to be mixed. Lots of people claim they have got good results too. I have some touch-ups to be done. You all know about the cost the service center guys charges .
