I am new member..Booked a Verito D6

Hi all,
I am Vinod, from Bangalore. I have booked a new Verito D6.
When I went to see my piece, it has already been driven for 78km!
When I checked with the dealer they said the car has been brought from a distant warehouse. However I am disappointed. Hope the driver wouldnt have driven it rashly

If it has been driven so far it is not a New Car !

Welcome to the forum. Which dealer have you booked it with? It is possible that the car has such a figure on the odometer as the warehouse of Sireesh is about 40km away from the dealership. And then if was taken to the service center and then to showroom, you will end up with a similar number.

I still say this is unacceptable and if it has more than lets say 10 Miles on the clock it should be sold as used ! Which number plates do they drive on when the do this ?
Its so wrong !!!

Stu they get temporary numbers for that. And yes it is normal for warehouses to be on outskirts of the city and so there will be some number on the ODO!

Why dont they get the Vehicles delivered by Truck ?we do !!

I got my new Verito D6. Very good vehicle. Though I could drive only around 100km, that too mostly in city condition, I enjoyed driving it!. currently the digital display shows the mileage as 14.5km/L. Very sturdy body and very good drive comfort. Only thing noticed was that the movement of the wheels can be felt inside. I mean the suspension seems to be hard. May be because of being new.
Put new alloy wheels, Nitrogen gas..
Plan to go for a long drive this weekend..

Mahindra connects speedometer only before delivery. I have seen them using New cars for testdrive. Infact the car I testdrived was some other customers. I have brought a Mahindra D6. I am quite happy with my car. Servicing is not upto mark, and had to mail the service executive for better results. My ABS sensor was gone. Overall great car with not so good service. Some of the service mechanics are pure nuts. They dont know anything about the car.

While I do not rule out the possibility of what you say regarding using another customer's car for a test drive, atleast here in Bangalore, they have a policy for having separate test drive vehicles.

If any dealer is indulging in such practices, it wil have to be against the parent company's knowledge.

I am getting 14.5 Kmpl in City. Hope this is ok. I saw some friends mentioning about getting 18 in city with AC on. Dont know whether it is because of it was already driven for 78kms probably recklessly ( i mean above 2500rpm or above 80kmph spped)!

Yes, Banglore has a seperate test drive vehicle. I hail from Bangy but live in kerala. I am talking about here in Kannur. Dont worry Vinod you are doing fine. 14.5 is good in city. the milage picks up after 5000 km. I used to get 12.6km only initially, but then its all hilly here with steep roads.
recently I made a trip to Bangalore and measured tankfull to tank full method. Driving 550 km in highway and 100 km in city(totall 650km), I got a milage of 17km with AC on always. Even On highways I did not drive for milage, as I had crossed 130km/min frequently. I am very happy for my driving getting this milage.
However dont drive above 2500 rpm till 5000km on odo. I am nearing 6000km now.

Vinod, Mileage may start improving after some time. intially when I got the delivery of my car it was showing 13 or 14 kmpl, then when I used to start the car daily but not drive it dipped to 2.5 kmpl

So drive it a little more, it will start showing the correct values after few hundred kms or few tank full of fuel

But always use tankful method to get the correct mileage.

Hi all,

I went on a long trip and drove around 310km to Shivasamudra near Bangalore. Road was not good at some places and I always tried to limit the speed within 80kmph, ofcourse within 2500 rpm.

I got a very good mileage of 22kmpl with half the time AC on!. we were 4 people and that way also the vehicle was almost fully loaded.

I am very happy now! As some of you suggested after this trip my city mileage has also improved to almost above 15.

I am M.Prabhakar from Chennai. Bought Verito D6 on Nov.30th. I have a few queries.

1. There is a rattling noise from the steering wheel. Is it normal?
2. There is a small portion below the rear seat which is sealed using wax. It is in the diesel tank portion. However, there is no smell inside the car. Is it alright and will it be there in all the vehicles.
3. The steering wheel seems to be tight though I checked the air pressure. Is it ok?
4. When the accelerator is released, the gear knob moves forward slightly. When the accelerator is pressed again, the knob moves backward. Is this also normal?

I Bet the rattle on the steering wheel is your Keys !!! It sounds silly but it has been proven so many times on this forum

yes the gearbox will move under power as long as it does not move to much

I own a D6 too and its been over an year with no issues so far.

1. The rattling noise from steering wheel needs a check.
2. I am not sure on the sealed wax part though. But the tank portion is rear to the driver seat and is supposed to be at a lower height. Should not be of concerns unless you are considering any drastic modifications.
3. The steering wheel isn't tight unless you seem to have driven any other car and seem to be doing a relative comparison.
4.When the accelerator is pressed the gear knob tends to move slightly forward, I guess this is normal and happens with my car that has clocked over 11000kms across country.


If you are still not convinced, you need to get a check at your service center. Ideally this beauty comes with a 2 yrs warranty and you should be having free service left.
