Div, I understand your feeling. But I guess you can still go for Verito though you are engaged with Dzire.

I know Rs 25,000 extra for Verito when compared to Logan does not make sense to what they have added, But I guess you wont regret when you start driving Verito. When I drive to office I really feel comfortable cruising in Logan and love that floating feel it gives.

Think and still there is time. Take few more test drives back to back and judge. Slowly you will start tilting towards your heart (Logan\ Verito )

Dear MCL, it was not the Rs.25,000/- that finally took me elsewhere. Yes, I've booked the Dzire and am paying much more (have gone in for the top end Dzire,which too comes highly inflated for the ABS and airbags with other bells and whistles which I don't really care about. (It's time car companies in India don't take a customer for granted. They should provide ABS and airbags and as the first option before they throw in non-critical stuff like power winders, EORVMs, and music systems).

I didn't see the Verito creating the sensational sales that was hyped with Mahindra taking charge. Figured the only thing Mahindra changed was for the worse. Finally, it was the service support I couldn't risk with the Verito. I travel a lot with my wife and daughter. With the Dzire I can get spares just about anywhere, considering the number of Swifts on the road.

I'll miss the boxy design (which the entire family loves). But...
I'll also miss wonderful discussions on this page with Logan owners. Some really nice people here.

...Maybe I'll even buy a used Logan Diesel at the earliest! I freak out on the boot space.

I don't think Mahindra taking over would help Verito sales.

Reason i feel is as we have discussed earlier on this forum the design of Logan would impress very few as it is not something that can attract anyone and everyone. In fact this was the reason and as per me the only reason of Logan not picking up great sales at the very first instance.

The way i see is till Mahindra comes up with refined sedan and till they have Logan stocks they would have Verito. Verito i see is a transition from Logan to that refined Sedan. Mahindra could not be continuing with the same looks model.

Again something which i feel....
Toyota launched ETIOS and Tata came up with Manza. Now both are still not great lookers. To compete with Logan boot space they had to compromise with their boot designs. Manza in fact has a boot that opposes its front design.
Comparatively Logan fairs at par with these two if not better on the looks aspect specially.

Once you own and start driving the Dzire you will feel and understand the difference. My friend has one and after he sat in my car and went for a drive, he realized what he was missing out.

Guess that is one experience which one has to live to realize. Hope you don't have second thoughts later on.

Logan/Verito is typical European it has its own pros and cons.One thing is clear no one get the comfort of verito/logan in others in this class. And the spare parts is not an issue now after it is with mahindra. As per my knowledge the QC is excellent in mahindra
If verito is not accepted by indian public the last month sales was 1260.Highest in last 2 years

@Dushie, fully agree with you Dushie. The Logan is a fabulous car. Very practical. Loved it when I sat in it. My only concern is ready and long term availability of spares and service. And that comes with a volume seller.

I'm driving long distance regularly in a 10 year old car and have been stuck with breakdowns, while on the road. A ready service network helped. And that experience, repeated more than once has influenced my decision.

@Dushie and Mathew:Contrary to many, my family loves the Logan's looks! We like boxy, practical looking, no-nensense cars. Don't you think those are the values the marketing chaps should be communicating about the car thank trying a futile jazz up and selling it as a me too glam? They should take a lesson from Maruti, the way they rejigged the Wagon R communication when it didn't roll off the showrooms initially. Once they spoke the language of 'practicality', the WagonR too off. Even a straight on competition with the Indigo should give them some clues to get their communication right.

Incidentally, I used to handle automobile communication and have seen the advertising guys miss out on some essentials.

hey guys... verito is the same as logan.. Here is a good news for u logan lovers.. Although verito may look a little different from logan, its heart is t same as logan.. i mean the engine.. they stil use the renault engine.. the interiors are the same.. only the name have been changed.. i ve just booked a verito D6 model.. toreader red.. so i guess u guys could give our new VERITO a warm welcome into the logan family.. my friend owns a logan and now i own a verito.. but stil we love both of them

Congratulations Ram.. Yes the Verito is absolutely similar to the Logan apart from a few cosmetic changes. Welcome aboard..
