The Logan is a logan made by Mahindra just like mine is aLogan made by Dacia
I bet you that Renault hold the patent and still supply the parts

Ofcourse the Parts will be Renaults including Engine but more and more Localization will happen to reduce costs. Also, the Logan will not be called the Logan after 18 months of the deal. It'll be a new product altogether with a New name but mostly, the engine will still be Renault's.
Also, Mahindra will pay a mutually decided Royalty to Mahindra behind each car sold.

I got behind the wheels on the Koleos during the autoexpo'10 and it is as good as it gets. It was a petrol one and hoot to drive. Sat in the fluence too, And it certainly a good car. But its not the cars, But the Brand and i think Renault has really lost it in India. I seriously doubt they will get another chance here..

Renault Solo and Renault JV cars are different in whole world and I tell you Renault has one of best car models among all.

and Im sure thats why they sold the brand Logan here in India to Mahindra (basically avoiding a dent in their catalogue)

personally i think Logan no where is under Renault hood. it is always through channel partner kind of stuff like Dacia and here Mahindra. however i do not know the reason behind this.

A way to look at is is this The Logan is a way for Renault to sell spares from most of its cars into one THE LOGAN it is made up of bits of Renaults all sizes and especialy the Twingo and what a great way to get rid of old stock or Keep production running of parts which normaly would not be made anymore and not needing to remove the factory equipment used to make these parts !giving them a longer life and they make more money

What a silly way to fool customers and make profits, but we must have relised earlier these facts, we could've been in better deal.

Although ICICI has given my 3 year old Logan DLS insured value of 4.11 L, so guys who so ever is planning to resale, think twice, whether you want to resale or setting-up your car on fire and getting claim ..
