Although the photograph looks PS'ed, if that were to be the final product, it is ghastly to look at.
Let MR just shut down operations at Nashik and end the Logan production.

Additionally, the bood land seems to be only about 3-4". In that case, is it a notchback?
But the glass seems to be the same as in a regular Logan

Somehow, neither am I convinced nor very happy about this.
Why cant they just tweak the bumpers and get done with the job.

personally i did like this. the big boot is simply not there.
this is very good for people who dont need it often.
looking at the current width 1740mm which is very much near to a SUV i am sure from inside the space factor would still be retained even after factoring some reduction.

however i am not too sure how well will this work. primarily because people not liking its present looks.
in case if this comes for around 3.99 and gives a good mileage (13 - 14 kmpl with A.C. in city) this may just workout.

@ Mir, ya the looks are continued and that could be a problem!! People dont like the boot not because its big to look from the sides but its Big to look from the back and that is maintained so doesnt do good to me.. They need to change the lights and a bit of the body structure to match the cut size!

Renault should look at the overall effort that will go into shortening the Logan.
Whats the point in reducing price, if you still cant appeal to the visual senses. C'mon, new tail lamps aren't that difficult to provide. The car has been here for 3 years now. It does deserve some make-up.

Bloody silly to take off the largest boot on the market so now you can have 4 passengers + driver and no room fo luggage ....................

Stu, there is a law here in India that drastically reduces some of the taxes on the price of a new vehicle below 4meters in length.

Just because they managed to cut off the tail of the Tata Indigo CS doesn't mean that other vehicles will look as good with the tail cut off.

Yea tom, tata actually did a good job to cut the boot and make the car presentable! From the picture we got, it looks terrible to say the least!

Even if they cut off the rear part, they could have done it much better way and make it look much like the Toyota Prius way.

Ghastly!!!! It d be better to stop producing the car completely instead of making a mockery out of this lovely car........

Guys.. take a closer look... it seems like a photoshoped job.

The length of Logan is 4247 (mm). Reducing less than a feet should not be difficult. You don't need to get rid of the boot to bring it under 4mts... inless of course they are looking at a lighter vehicle with a smaller engine.

In either case.. am happy to have bought the original one. I got the vehice serviced day before yesterday... i didn't notice any change in the behaviour at the service center.
In fact they tried to do a better job as I've been complaining since last few visits.

Yup Stuart... I think so too.... look at the RHS Tail lamp edge... the air brushed highlights seem visible, especially on the upper side.

Saw another article in BSM today (Business Standard Motoring). They have another angle of the same car.
