Logan 1.6... No More??

The plans of Pawan Goenka's are --- they have suggested Renault to cut short length of Logan equal to Indigo CS or Swift Dzire so I could get benefit of reduced excise duty from 24% to 16% and rates can be reduced to as equal as both of them.

But Its not a solution for owners of current version of Logan, people dislike Logan due to its looks and cheap quality of assembling with interiors, they still appraise its riding & engine quality.

Trimming would destroy it.. I wouldn't have bought it if that is what they were offering. Even so, I do not think they will meet the pricepoint of an Indigo CS.

In my point of view Pawan Goenka is indirectly saying
THIS MODEL AINT WORK.......... Change the model.

I went to 2 dealerships today on some official work and found that noth did not have the 1.6 mentioned in the price list.

While they mention it is not in stock, a guy close to me said it wasnt getting feasible to sell the 1.6 in the scenario of curent competition & pricing

@ Ezee, read an article today which quoted Pawan Goenka saying,

am trying to imagine a logan that has been beaten up front and rear to resemble a Ritz (how horrible) so that some people can save on Taxes!!!! ridiculous is a small word!

or a "Nano..ised" Logan; how's that for the imagination!

The ad could read "the widest car in its class, now in nano..ised version; at an unbeatable price"

Today i saw in MR website... 1.6 GLX is back... i do not understand the reason for change of strategy by MR. On 21st august 09. Mr. Nalin Mehta confirmed that they have stopped for retail sale and available only in Delhi for CNG versions.. and the price list was also not available in the website.. But today 1.6 GLX is back in their website... What is the reason for this turnaround in their strategy...

I talked to my service advisor here and he says the new mirrors will definitely be available but only after a few of the new cars are sold.

Also, the wiring for the electrical mirrors is going to be complex so don't expect it to be easy or cheap.

ha ha, my guess figure in range of INR 4500 - INR 7000 for electric ORVMs.

any other guesses.

Toyota charges about 12000/- for the Innova ORVM with side turn indicators. Of this, installation comes to around 2000 rs. due to the need for removing the dash panel and wiring.

Electric ORVM (app. 4000) + wiring (2000) + misc expenses = About 7000 is my guess
