BLACK SMOOKING OF MY DLS 1.5 LOGAN

Hi Loganisers
My Logan completed 2 yrs. And 34000km. Now I noticed that there is exessive black smooking while accelerating . I take it service station. They clean EGR <exhaust gas regulater > valve. Charged Rs. 200 for labour. But still problem not solved.
Any Suggestions ?

i also got the egr valve cleaned and the problem of black smoke was solved


but u were charged rs 200... whereas i was charged rs 300

I am from Amritsar. Purchased Logan from Modern Motor Ludhiana August 2007. I had got complimentry free service coupons from BALAK AUTOMOTIVE LUDHIANA <ihad paticipated in logan milage rally at LDH 2007 and struck35.4km/lt>
So I got recent service from Balak Motors. They charged rs 150 labour+Rs50 petrol for cleaning EGR valve. Problem not solved. Now they ask me to replace EGR free of cost. From where u service ur vehicle? Keep in touch...... CELL NO 9815788665

Black smoke from a diesel exhaust comes mainly from accelerating in the wrong gear
Change down and it will go away .this is a thing about the mighty diesel motor if you try to burn fuel at the wrong revs it will spit out the fuel at your expence through the exhaust

well.... i agree with u ....but problem in my mechine is differnt, i never let my vehicle to go beyond 25000rpm in any situation

if you drive in the wrong gear Too low revs it will smoke
or a blocked air filter or even try changing your garage and fill at another station (bad fuel) but i still go for LOW REVS try it out put the car in 5th at about 50kmh and give gas .............black smoke
now do the same in 3rd .............clean !!
