PostSubject: Headlight stalk jamming   Thu Jul 31, 2014 8:23 pm

Hi Guys,

The headlight stalk of my vehicle gets jammed intermittently when I flash lights. This happened today as well while driving and the lights won’t switch off at all. They did switch off after some time though. What can be the problem?  Well if they remain on for some reason when the car is switched off, it will drain off the battery. Any suggestions?
Should the stalk be removed and put back again or has it gone bad, the only alternative to replace stalk.

If changed what is the price for the part?

Best regards,

Siddharth.

No Stu, it does not get caught in the housing. I suspect a breakage inside the stalk. Well when the turn signal is on and if one tires to flash , the stalk offers some resistance.
It did happen that I have to do this, du eto the fact that there are morons who do not seem to give way or keep coming at you while you are turning. By flashing I just indicate them to halt and allow me to proceed, good drivers understand the signs many / some do not.

Well, I feel that the stalk has got displaced in some point during this exercise that I just mentioned.

The headlight stalk issue, I was reading about a similar experience about a person on another forum on which I am not a member. Would it be the first stage of the light switch burning.
