| This a idea I had in 2006 with my first Dacia Logan .In the summer you get covered in leaves and flower bits and dust so I decided to get a pair of my wifes stockings and fit them over the air intakes below the wipers and it works perfectly give it a try lots of germans and Rumanians have used my idea and have written emails of thanks to me so here are the photos Stu Please notice the white powder is dust that it has collected You can also see that I have also used a piece of Kitchen hood filter paper to help Stu | |

| This is the same problem I am facing .... finally I have simply taped up the same vents below the wipers with masking tape ... Zero air vantilation = no fumes! | |

| It cannot be seen from outside ! I would not cover up the vents zero air means fogging up your car inside You just turn and pull up the buttons (in the middle) then lift out the whole button and you can pull out the plastic mesh and then put on the stocking .It works great .And you lose NO airflow you just get a lot cleaner air Stu | |

| After removing the plastic grill (over which Stu has wrapped the stocking) Razwan has taped an airfilter directly over the vent that goes towards the airconditioning inlet. Then after mod is done replace plastic grill and it will look as if no mod has been done. Check the link I have posted | |

| Been there and worn the Tshirt It is ok to do this Burt you block off nearly half if not more of you air intake because the hole is only 5 inches by 3 and it can also get caught up in the wiper mechanisum causing a large bill ! and also you need very small hands to get down there to the hole Stu | |

| Can anyone suggest the tape (waterproof power tape) used for filter in Razwan mod is available in India (where?)? Beware using as per Razwan mod, filter may go inside air intake system if mounted loose. So put a protective cover on filter before mounting. | |

| Yeah ... all the above is also true ... But Stu, we can probably use a coarser mesh filter to allow a littkle more air in ... Ezee: we can attach the filter to a stiff wire mesh and then fix the whole assembly in there so no problem of being sucked in, Also will be easier to remove and clean/replace. But actually the problem here is my initial one "Why does the AC vent NOT close fully in the Recirculation position?" Because when I am behind a Pre Euro I Diesel taxi or bus belchingh pollution and smoke, I want ZERO outside air entering the passenger cabin The tape is called Gaffer Tape ... I am afraid I have not seen it here ... would buy it abroad whenever I get the chance. | |

| Just to see if we are covering everything ... even if we cover the screens below the wipers, there must be some other MAJOR opening elsewhere letting in dusty air from around the front tyres, because where does all the rainwater go that enters through the screen ... there must be a largish hole near the front wheels to allow water and other dirt out ... I have been trying to see where water exits by pointing a hosepipe on the screen while looking below the car without any success | |

| Have renamed the thread title to HVAC (Heating Ventilation & Cooling) air intake filter. Generally the term 'air intake filter' is referred to the filter which sucks in the air for the engine. This has been done to avoid the confusion. | |

| Like I always say the stocking filter keeps ALL the muck and stuff out of your heater and keeps the car clean inside and it does not restrict the airflow Stu | |

| Stu .. what I have been looking for is the exit hole for water that enters through your stocking ... this does not enter the passenger cabin, but flows down either side near the front wheels. What is this exit point? Dirty air entering through this bottom hole will bypass your stocking filter | |

| If it is an air EXIT it will not allow air in These exit points are normaly covered with a little rubber valve ( a bit like a little balloon ) and allows only exiting air and fluids and not incoming air or fluids No air can get in this way !! Stu | |
