TOP SPEED

I touched 150 KMPH atleast 6 times the last two days. Twice i felt vibration after about 120, but rest of the times it was smooth sailing. I feel even the road contributes to the vibration some times..

actual speed is 10% less than speedo (this is a UN car import/export regulation issue - where no speedo can show less than the actual driven speed ... so all mfgrs tweak speedos to about 10%less to keep within the law)

Yup, i was able to see the same on my GPS, it was always showing 94 while i was steady at 100..

I have taken it to 160Kmph yesterday while on a trip to Sowmwarpet.

Yes, pretty much empty road and could see clearly for a long distance. Also went to my native earlier. These last 2 weeks I was out most of the times.

i still feel indian roads are not meant for 160.. and nor is the Logan.. but each one his own... Rajesh.. enjoy it boss.. but be extremely cautious.. it's your life and others' outside as well...

I agree with you. Thanks for your concern. This was just an excercise that lasted for a very short time (few seconds to a minute or two).

I believe not to cross one's limit. I have once managed to cross 150 kmph and that will be the last one for me. Last week one incident in Kolkata really traumatised me. 4 boys in their early 20's were driving a Ford Fiesta at an extremely high speed along the secong Hoogly bridge, when one of its tyres burst. The car (as per the onlookers) just started rolling furiously along the concrete boundary on the bridge. The picture that came in the newspaper later showed that the car was literally torn apart across the middle. All 4 died at the spot. One of them was the birthday boy. So better drive logically and safely and value our precious lives.

A tyre burst is something unexpected ...

But otherwise I always keep in mind a single statement my driving instructor told me all those years back. "Always drive so that the car is fully under your control"

A simlple yet powerful statement. Basic rule - slow down if you feel that car or driving conditions are more than you can handle

Thank you all for your concerns. Nayandeep, that story has some semblance to my trip. There were four of us and it was my birthday.

I drove MyLogan with a Maximum of 110KPH....

I did 140 on the NICE road in bangalore. Nice and stable.. was at 140 for only a minute though. Could have definitely gone faster.. but with family in car, really couldn't push it..

Did 140kph in a four lane road under construction with opposite traffic.
But whenever i take it, i'm more keen on FE(credit goes to trip computer)

Ja, ja, ja top speed on the tarmac, but how fast you can go on the snow/ice (in the real winter conditions) or on the gravel roads?

Today i go on snow (with snow tyres) 105 km/h it was pritty scarry!

In the summer time on the gravel the speed can be little bit faster or slover. It depends on how holes are deep and big, and how many stones are on the road. In the normal gravel conditions, speed is about 90 - 100 km/h! My top speed is 120 km/h.

almost near to 170 at 5300 rpm. did it on Baroda - Ahmedabad highway after Nadiad toll passage.
car cruises excellently. total control.
Sudden braking can be a bit of hassle. Have to be careful with that one. I am sure it is bound to cause loss of control.
However normally such a speed is not advisable.

Fuel economy rises as from 90 kmph till 110 kmph after which starts dropping.
engine gets a bit noisy at between 110 - 125 kmph.
Beyond 125 kmph noise subsides a bit.
with light music on, and A.C. one can not feel the speed at all.

I have touched 155 km/hr in NH-2 while I was driving from Kolkata to Durgapur. As far as my observation goes, in a multiple lane highway, over a long stretch ti is better to move at 110-120 range.

Consistently touching 160's

The max i have touched was 177.5 ........ In that speed the stering becomes real smoth as silk

@sabrish, i would say rather than becoming silk it becomes dangerous.

however the drive at this speed is amazingly thrilling.

It becomes highly responsive and hence the 'silk' feeling. Be very careful at those speeds.

Clocked 165 Km/Hr in NH2.
