| I have noticed minute spots of paint chipping off from the front bumper only. This is the replacement bumper, if you recall my earlier posts. I think this bumper was repainted before they fixed it to my car. Sireesh Auto is absolutely a pain in the, you know where. | |

| Guys, My basic question is still unanswered !.. I love my misty logan. However, I just want to know, whether we have any figures on the thickness of the steel used in the body. It could be a mistake or mirage, but somehow I feel, Hundai's Accent has thicker body. Any figures or updates on this Aspect. I asked Mahindra as well but they could not give me figures or comparison. Thanks .. - asheesh wrote:
- I have a 1.4 GLE (Dec 07) Silver Grey, feel that the quality in terms of Thickness of the steel used for the body is significantly less and the paint is vulnerable to scratches. The other day I was trying to remove bird droppings with a wet cloth , this lead to visible scratches on the surface.
I have been doing the same with my Maruti Vehicles without any impact.
The paint on the bumpers is giving way to black patches.
Any thoughts on this observation.
Shall I take it up with Mahindra.

| Come to think of it, whether the sheet is 03 mm or 06 mm or xx mm, does it actually make a difference?
For me the remark of Logan_lover that the guy who fixed his car told him that the quality of steel is good .... is enough of a re-assurance.
I have a Zen as well and my brother has an Esteem, and u all will agree with me, the Logan seems built like a battle tank as compared to a Zen/Esteem!

| yup.. i agree with Romeo.. compared to the marutis and santros logan feel like a tank indeed.. in fact what little i have seen of it.. it is a typical european car.. ala the Skodas of the world.. drive safe.. the car can only do so much to keep you safe.. even the thickest of armours wont save you if you drop off a cliff | |

lifting bonnet does provide some sense that metal is real good. not the same feeling when lifting boot though. it feels very light. not sure about the car body. i think for a car with such huge boot space it might be necessary for it to be real light at boot.

Try lifting bootlid with the springs detached! Absolutley valid. Even from a designers pount of view. Boot is used more frequently than Bonnet. And if the car is really reliable, why would I need to open the bonnet at all except for filling water (just a viewpoint of manufacturers)

| The renaults are made to have a squash effect (all our cars use this) and it is the folding of the metal which absorbs the impact check out this video and you will see how YOUR car will react in a crash and our cars are very well tested as you will see . and our testing is something that rubs off on YOUR cars in India https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lku2LjcwWL8 | |

Yes thats right. Anyone who travels on Bangalore airport road in the mornigs will find Logans, whose erratic / unworthy drivers have crashed them into trcks, walls and what not. Most of the times, the bonnet gets folded like curtain pleats. Even the glass doesnt break in most cases. Thanks for quoting this Stu.

| guys dont know how many will actually be inteested in this. but thought of sharing. on the youtube link above what interested me was the conversation between lee23404 and Meteorishappening in the comments section since past some months now. lee23404 seems to be a 30 yr old young guy frm UK. Meteoris seems to be a Software Engineer in Romania. Argument between them is based on the parts of world they live in. they see UK and Romania as two seperate worlds. Interesting thing is how a car and that too Dacia Logan creates such sparks. This suggest to me that the car is really electrifying. reassured me that problems are same everywhere. only difference is in latitudes and longitudes... | |

| they don't need to find support at a dealer. Just take a look (it's better to have a picture) at the sticker on the middle pillar (left or right, or maybe on the back wings in the area of the door lock mechanism on the back wing). it' something like TE... (3 characters after TE) or just a code with 3 characters. Thank's in advance! | |
