| I have a 1.4 GLE (Dec 07) Silver Grey, feel that the quality in terms of Thickness of the steel used for the body is significantly less and the paint is vulnerable to scratches. The other day I was trying to remove bird droppings with a wet cloth , this lead to visible scratches on the surface.
I have been doing the same with my Maruti Vehicles without any impact.
The paint on the bumpers is giving way to black patches.
Any thoughts on this observation.
Shall I take it up with Mahindra.

| I assume you have mist silver. I normally wet the bird dropping throughly and then wait for sometime and use running water and a clean cloth to clear the same. Its strange that the paint on bumpers is giving away. Did you clean the car with anything new (shampoo/solution etc) or the service people must have used high pressure during wash and directed it continuously at one spot or area. I would really be surprised if the service center did such a thing. | |

| After followup with Mahindra and taking the car to Koncept. Per them its not a manufacturing defect. No action from their side.
Pretty strange!
I have been cleaning up bird dropping in my Wagon -R same colour with wet cloth without any issues, regarding bumper giving way to original black colour below is not peeling. Even I agree its not peeling but its slowly fading away !!
Anyone with similar experience ...

| Wooooooo .... I have finally done it. A bus has scratched the left side of my Logan and even managed to peel off a 25p sized bit of steel off the rear door panel! I guess this is one for the workshop! | |

| Same here. Some biker who was in a hurry to die, hit the tail lamp with his clutch lever. Luckily the lamp survived but, the son of a good soul (dont even feel like wasting an abuse on the guy) left a prety bad dent n scar on the side and the edge has cracked paint on the edge lining the tail lamp.

| Well i had a similar issue of bird dropping on my car, where the paint came off and it has a white spot, after doing some research i found the culprit, it was bat shit that caused the paint to come off, as it contains acid, which caused the paint to get spoilt , so its not bird dropping but bat that can cause a problem | |

| imagine going through all that bodywork earlier on my car, to discover this evening that some b**** truck/van has seriously damaged the rear wheel arch, while it was parked outside my office. *@!#!@. And I was parked right in the gutter next to the kerb. The damage is so deep, that it has broken through the steel. Luckily damage is in a limited area this time. Aah well, I can understand a scrape caused while the vehicle is being driven around, but to get damage like this on a stationary, parked car is simply disgusting. | |

| Friends... I also scratched my car yesterday within two months of purchasing. I scraped the rear left wheel arch. I was passing through a gate and I did this thing. Actually it was my fault and couldnt sleep well last night afer this incident. There are three scratches about 10 - 12 inches long and a dent about 4 inches long but not very deep. At one place the base metal is visible (circular in shape about 5-6 mm in diameter) . My first servicing is due this Sunday. I am planning to claim insurance, though I am not sure whether the insurance claim will get through... Till then I wont be able to sleep properly... | |

| hehehehehe... tom think about it.. or maybe those used chappals .. jokes apart.. the way the cars get bruised on indian roads is such a bug bear!! I have had one door replaced, one dry denting job done and some choicest hindi gaali's keyed onto my bonnet (on day 2 of the car)... disgusting is the only word.. the good is that the dry denting guy was on the view that the sheet metal of the car is of very high quality and that makes one feel secure in a logan anyday.. right? | |

| Ya the chappals will also come in use, if I catch the b**** fool who did it. According to one eyewitness the next day, it was caused by a police truck going the wrong way, along a one way road. Aah, the long arm of the law! | |
