| Folks,
I had noticed a leak in the power steering fluid reservoir, and hence went to the Mahindra service center at Parel where I was informed that the leakage is due to power steering pressure switch failure. Can this be the only possible reason for the fluid level to go down as I do not see any cut or abrasions in the pipes carrying the fluid to the mechanical parts where it is supposed to reach, but yes I do find traces of oil near the fan belt and when the fan belt rotate it throws up the oil on the underside of the bonnet.
As it happens and always happens , parts are out of stock is the answer.
Before it becomes a major issue where the assembly would get jammed and cost a huge sum, I need to have it fixed.
Please advise if any of you have come across such a issue in their vehicle.

| I have read this weekend that in Germany there were a few cases of the Switch itself developing a leak and the fluid comes out of the switch !! It was fixed on Guarantee | |

| @sidtalgeri : did you ask them whether the logan parts are any different from verito parts. if they are same and still they don't have parts then this is ridiculous | |

| I would say motor parts will be the same unless you do not have a Renault motor in there | |

| Mir / Stuart, both of you are right, it is the same part that fits into the Verito, I never gave this a thought and upon reading your post immediately called up the workshop to check the availability.
Thanks a lot.
Best regards, Siddharth. | |

| Thanks Stuart.
Upon inquiring, part not available is the answer again, upon arguing that Verito is a running model how come the part is not available to which I am replied, “Sir we had stocked it and since we do not receive such problems with the vehicle we have limited stock which we have exhausted , it shall take another week or so to order it” I ask the part is available in the open market, if I buy it from there, to which I am replied, “we would not fix it then” Such replies have no questioning further
I am bit skeptical to have it fixed from a local garage as I understand that it is a critical part of the steering assembly and one would run the risk of mishandling and later if approached the Mahindra workshop they may hold a different view that the mechanic has damaged the surroundings as well etc etc….
Such is our plight after a vehicle is purchased…. anyway have heard worse cases than this .. but can not help it.

| I was feeling a noise while turning right since last 1 month and the power steering fluid was also going down. Today I went for a checkup and found the same power steering pressure switch part no 7700413763 leaking from plastic to metal joint. The Verito mechanic @ Rudra Automart , Asansol changed the switch and now its working fine. But the cost of pressure switch was amazingly high. I had to pay Rs 6045 for that! Moreover the price on the packet was rubbed off!

| Sir actually the switch cost is about 2k odd,let me have a look at the bill and give you the correct price, another thing that you must do is to check if the oil leak has spoilt your alternator as well, thevrwason being the oil leak can seep into the alternator as the switch is located just above the alternator. If you do happen to see oil inside the alternator which is a bit difficult to find, but you will have check, plz get it cleaned asap, refer to the post by Stuart above or find a reliable mechanic to do this job and be present while he does it. | |
