PostSubject: Diffrence in breaking - Yoko A drive   Diffrence in breaking - Yoko A drive Icon_minitimeSun Dec 11, 2011 9:06 pm

Hi guys,

Has anybody noticed the change in the braking distance after a tire change, is my question to fellow Loganites.

I recently changed over to Yoko A drive tires for my Logan 1.4 glx. I noticed that the breaking efficiency has changed after the tyre change, I mean when the vehicle was running on the stock JK tyre the amount of pressure that I exerted while applying the breaks depending on the distance to the vehicle in front of me, my vehicle used to start slowing down immediately depending upon the pressure applied, but now in the same sort of scenario when I apply the similar kind of pressure with the Yokos ,the vehicle does not seem to slow down which prompts me to apply more pressure.

This situation has got me worried affraid ,what would happen to the breaking while on the high way drives. Of course the breaking distance has increased which means one has to start breaking early.

Any thoughts or first hand experiences on a similar situation?

Experienced the same when I switched over to Bridgestone Turanza ER-60. But the ride quality is excellent. I have probably posted that in an earlier thread. You will get used to it.

Siddharth Dude, I hope the issue must have got sorted by now and i see no other reason but worn out brake pads....I also got yokos A drive after 38000 km of very average JK tyres. But i also bought Bosch brake pads and they have done nearly 20000 since then and my car brakes so very well.....

Peace,
N

I also changed my tyre to Good year assurance i also felt the same and in hard and rough roads and in cornering new tyre is excellent .Hot roads in delhi when i was in OE tyre it is very diffcult to increase the inital speed after the signals and feeling like driving a bullokart , steering is very hard The OE tyres have high rolling resistance so if we apply breaks the car is going short distance it is called rolling resistance and the new tyre yoko is anti rolling resistance type tyre so the car is rolling more in every speed according to me it is not problem of break pads pls tell any other views regarding this matter.

Another point to note is the break-in period for new tires. When the tires run for 1000 to 1500 kms it will show its real characteristic.
