| warranty issues will not airse on service. they will arise only if there is a serious engine damage which is claimed under warranty and for which it can be proven to have been caused because of using non recommended oil.. lots of ifs... aint they... | |

| New experience for me .... today I talked to Sterling Motors Gurgaon service center about castrol magnatec but they refused to tell any thing also they said they wont change engine oil if not purchased from them and will not sell oil filter too. Wow man now they are coming to their original mood - Mahindra Renault sucks man. Can we use after market oil filter for Logan Diesel any experience? | |

| So again they showed their intentions when I was there for fixing damages done by rats. First they refused to share info on other engine oils and then they refused to counter sale oil filter, saying that we dont counter sale products and you have to come to us for every possible fix. Now when I said Ok dont counter sale but change the oil filter in my car right now then these buggers said no we will not change and if we change we will charge you 1000 as labour cost (general service cost). What a shitting statements man. No spare parts are available in market and they are just monopolising on owners by forcing them to come service center and pay hefty labour charges. Now Is something similar happening in your areas as well or it just Sterling Motors, Gurgaon going that way? | |

| Hi ezee, this is common for any authorised service center of any car brand. They don't sell anything until its only car accessories. Also they won't deviate from the brand of spare they use. | |

| Hi,
Engine oil can be mineral, semi synthetic and synthetic. The standard mineral oil as used in India for Logan is 20W40. However, I have recently shifted from the standard oil and started using semi synthetic oil. Initially I was using Castrol Magnatec 10W40. Once I have shifted to Castrol, the engine has become somewhat smoother. However, the life of Castrol Magnatec as only 6000 to 7000 Kms. During my last oil change, I have used Motul Synergie 6100 15W50. This is also semi synthetic. However, using the same, I found the engine being much smoother compared to Castrol. Also, the drain life is in excess of 10,000 Kms.
Regards, Kaustuv. | |

| For Logan 1.6 GLX what's the grade of engine oil. I searched the castrol link it recommendedEDGE 0W-30 MAKE: Dacia MODEL: Logan, L90\K90 (2004 - 2012) TYPE:Logan 1.6 (2004 - 2012). So far used only Elf at authorized service center. Unable to find Elf Total engine oil dealer in local market | |

| Just use a Good Mid priced Oil and if you can get it synthetic with the correct viscosity for your weather http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-to/a53/1266801/
Do Not worry about it not being ELF | |
