- @rdr: as i read your post, i understand you were highly furious on that rat.
Pissed off with all rats as of now. This one was terrorizing the entire apartment block. It had bitten through a lot of clothes and plastics. But sadly, I don't think this is the rat that is visiting my car. So, I'm still on the hunt. | |

| Its better u keep the dead rat hanging from the front bumper. That will give the right signal to its colleagues and will also show them ur lust to drown rats if get caught. | |

| I remember as a kid I used to go out on hunting sprees in the backyard with a .177 air rifle and a torch tied to the barrel looking for these critters. Aaah those were the days! | |

| Naphthele balls did not work. In fact, I had used the rat kill cakes before and some of it had stuck to the pain in the bonnet. The rat/mouse scrapped out the rat kill cake and scratched the paint in the process. Metal exposed in a small 2cmx2cm area now. I am thankful they haven't bitten wires yet. Yesterday, I got some full-big tobacco leaves and have tied it inside the bonnet and on the front grill. These are really really smelly. At home, they stunk up a full room eventhough they were inside a sealed plastic cover. Anyone standing near my car will now think there is some dead animal in the bonnet... smells really bad. Hopefully this will work. | |

| Update: Rates chewed some wires going to engine around air filter area, cost for fixing them was 450 (taping) spent last week. Take it seriously the Rat menance otherwise they could get you in trouble with some hefty charges. I started parking my car with changed direction and using a mouse trap inside engine cabin every day. FYI - Nap balls, rat kill cake, tobacco will not work, but you may try using some pesticide spray (meant for rats) - although I feel mouse trap is best of all. Try searching google you will find a lot of threads posted by Indians on this topic. | |
