| I am planning to fix sunfilm on my Logan. I just dont want to fix those cheap ones available in the market. I did some survey. I got a quotation from V Kool. But is is too expensive. The top of the line films were in the range of 35k for all 4 windows and front and rear wind screen. The front wing screen was the most expensive one. The cheapest came for about 13k. There are other makes also available in the market like Llumer, Garware, 3M etc. I dont know about the cost of them.
I am looking out for some suggestions from other Loganisers about which film should I go for keeping in mind the RTO rules. Budget is les than 10k. What is the experience of other users? Does using the sun film really make a difference? If so then how big is the difference (some numbers will help)?

| I've been using Garware film (40%) on one of my car's for the past six years. No problems ever. It should be in the range of Rs 7-9K all inclusive.
The workmanship (quality of the installation job) is as important as the film itself. Make sure you visit a tried and tested place (ask locals for recommendations) .

| Garware is the only brand approved by RTO's. costs between 1600 to 2200 for 4 windows and back
3M is also a good choice. approx 3300 for 4 windows and back.
Remaining will cost upwards of 3500

| Thanks a lot for the info. After hearing the cost of VKool I was really scared. Of course proper installation is very important. Improper installation can spoil a good film. | |

| Similar figures ... about 3500 for front windshield and 2500 for the rest. Workmanship important. Keep an eye out for smooth cuts where necessary, proper alignment, smooth application, no bubbles (or as few as possible), no fingerprint marks left behind between film and glass! And if doing front windshield, make sure its a smooth job. The junior workman will not be able to do this one as it is arather tough job, even though he may do the rest of the windows, make sure the experienced specialist does this one! What I am saying is to raise issues quickly, the longer you wait to complain, the harder it will be to remove and redo! | |

So it will be good if anyone has any experience to share about Vkool films in Mumbai..

| Check the discount Supratik and then check the final price! Though the films are known to be pretty good but i really dont find them justifiable against say Llumar or a Filmpro or manyh other Good quality alternatives available! You could go to Bhavi Motors at Milan Subway in Mumbai and speak to Mr. Amar there. He's a friend since i have been a regular there. Should give you better rates than others. Do call to me before you go there.. | |

Do call to me before you go there.. I got a quote of approx 13K all inclusive (including installation, 5 year warranty) for the following 1) Front - 94% heat rejection 2) Rest five (Rear + 4 windows) - 60% heat rejection. There are also films with higher heat rejection but of course the cost goes up. The minimum quote was for 10k for the front film with 71% heat rejection and 60% for the rest. All the films are RTO approved with the required visibility of 70% for the front and rear and 50% for the windows. The front is the most expensive one. There are other film of lower cost for the front with 77% and 71% heat rejection. Need your expert opinion.

| I am having bad experience with VKool film for front windshield in my Santro, it does not control as much heat as promised and infact I feel only upto 30% heat rejection while driving in summers. In Logan most of the heat comes from windshield as its perfectly inclined to soak most of the sunlight, so my advice to you is go for best for front and rest can be managed at lower cost too, because at 50% visibility side films can reflect most of the heat in average products as well. Get a piece of sample film and test in direct sunlight by placing some metal object beneath for 5 mins. | |

| Llumar is cheaper than V Kool any day! I said Bhavi there cause there are a lot of people there but many give fake accessories instead of the original charging u the same! Since i know him, he wont do such a thing! Though the case with sun films isnt as bad but still! | |

Though the case with sun films isnt as bad but still! I have decided that I will go for Llumar. I got a quote for Llumar films from one distributor in Vashi. He quoted Rs 950 for 4 windows and rear and 1250 for the front. I think it is too low a quote to be original. Anyways, I am planning to go to Bhavi motors before Friday. Your help in getting me a good deal is definitely welcome. You can mail me at sroy27@gmail.com..

| Hello, people Newbie on here On the subject: the choice is between the Llumar and 3M. But looking on the climate specific of India, I do not think 3M is an appropiate choice. 3M is fitted more for the moderate continental area, is not quite sun resisting as the sommercial says. And, be carefull: workmanship in this case is the difference between heaven and hell (and everything on yor money!). Try a certificate service, ask for guarantee, supervise personally. And do not go cheap. In the end, if anything goes wrong, it will be more expensive. My best regards. | |
