Seat Belt Noise

I am facing a recurring seat belt noise problem. It was attended to in teh first service. Lot of adhesive tape was used to avoid direct contact between moving parts. It started again after a few months.

In the second service again more adhesive tape was used. I was told that it is a common problem with all Logans. So there is no point changing the seat Belt assembly.

Please let me know if other's have also faced the same problem.

Do we know how many common problems Logan has? It seems one after another, challenge is who discovers first.

Most of them are inherited:

- Driver Seat Noise - loose rubber seal or gasket kinda
- Driver side door mirror khat khat
- Glove box light lit on
- Hard clutch
- Door latch sound
- Loose doors etc etc

Can we have more please? dont feel shy while sharing

There are minor niggles... most of these are there because the service center guys are not able to find proper solutions to these.

I've driven other vehicles. They too have many issues.

I recently drove a Hundai i20 on Delhi roads ( that's probably the same segment and a latest one ). small potholes rattle-up the vehicle like hell... besides the cab not being a very silent one.

Am not for a second unhappy with my vehicle... it is still a pleasure driving my Logan.

Out of the list above I do not agree to the following. Never faced it in 2 yrs 22000+ kms

Problems not faced:

Seatbelts tend to give a slight creaking noise. Especially in the joint where you lock it.

If you observe, the lock holder mechanism (with red colour release button) has some amount of play. This is usually to accomodate the angle of the belt according to various belly sizes .

This sometimes also gives rise to a creaking noise.
Usually there is no lubricat used here as it tends to accumulate dust. Instead, there is a plastic/resin washer which serves the purpose.

what service engineers and other people generally refer as common problem is what they have inherited from its EU Logan versions. These problems can also be found in lot of other RO (EU) forums. I did not mean to say that every Logan has this kind of problems.

When it starts ,it's like a low metal against meat frictional noice, that seems to come somewhere from the pulley or the winding assembly at the top of the 'B' pillar.

If it's not a comman problem with most Logans then I'll ask for a replacement of the seat belt assembly.

18 months, 20000 odd kms, but never faced any of these probles.
Logan is extreamly rock solid car to drive in.....

i have too faced this problem..... but it comes when i put the belt in the joint......some metal - metal ghis ghis type noise.....i jus open the belt and noise gone....

have never paid so much attention as i drive less with seat belts on.... (wrong on my part)


driver seat also makes hell of a noise....especially with the person like me..healthy one..

have even got full seat replaced but as usual.. no use...
mine is dls model.. so it has got adjustable seat...when seat is at lower level..even little jerk makes noise....but when seat is in upper position ,,, no such noise is heard...

what to do... so have adjusted

Its probably the buckle (metal) hitting against the plastic interior.
