| I bought mahindra logan 1.5 DLX on JUN 08 and it has travelled 9100 KMS.
For the past one month, iam experiencing a problem with my logan.
After i travelled for about 10 KMS, car speed is not picking up even though the engine is rising and there was huge noise from engine. Problem is experienced more during climbing upwards.
So i went service center and they inspected and told me that i need to replace Clutch Plates. as per my intuition i will not rest my foot on clutch during the ride, but in chennai traffic , i need to use clutch very often. can anybody can explain how the clutch plates might have gone bad for just 10000 KM? also whether periodic play adjustment is required for logan clutch, since this is cable clutch?

| Welcome to the forum - one more in the row with clutch (yes diesel only). NO adjustments required, they used to be checked at every service interval. Your car is under warranty, bang on them from service center to mahindra head office and see everything happening free of cost | |

| Is somebody else using the car? It can only go bad if one rests the leg on the clutch or it was over tightened during one of the service. | |

| The Diesel mostly will have a heavier clutch when compared to the petrol. Most of the other things will be same. | |

| The clutch is automaticly adjusted using an eccentric cam like ALL modern Clutches so if your Clutch is Knackered look to yourself or whoever else drives this car for the problem | |

| It can happen in any car and often happens in scorpio too but the saddest part is clutch plates are not covered under warranty, if they are burnt then I am sure you need to spend a handsome amount of money. He has driven only 9100 and it cant happen what every way you drive, this is a clear case of mis adjustment or some pre exisitng faults. The service engineers are are inexperienced, as some one said in other thread they dont know what type of clutch Logan has - Wire or Hydraulic ...... funny na !! As I said bang on them and they will do that free of cost. | |

| IF IT WAS MISADJUSTED HE WOULD KNOW BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT PULL AWAY!!!!!!!!OR MAKE ONE HELL OF A NOISE AND IF WE STICK OUR NOSES UNDER THE BONNET WE WILL SEE WHAT TYPE OF CLUTCH WE HAVE .................(Well some of us will) And I am not sorry for shouting and as for misadjustment it is AUTOMATICLY adjusted Science and Rocket comes to mind | |

| Dear Experts.....
I'm about to ggo on for a vacation for 3-4 days with approx. 1200 km drive. I am feeling that the the clutch bearing of my Logan 1.5 DLX has gone, That I hears the kharrrrrrr sound sometimes when i release the clutch pedal. Some times it comes sometimes it doesn't. The clutch is slightly hard , but i find no difficulty in operating.
Would it be causing any problem in long tour? How much kms my car can survive with this. Should I take care of this immediately? & how much may be the repair cost?
