Injection Light popping up

Hmm u r right Tom. but that can't be solution to our grivances. Its extended for only another 2 yrs. What after that? Another extended warranty again?? It sucks man. However if u go for extended warranty u are contributing to 10% commision to the service advisor who advised u for the extended warranty. So its quite natural that they will force u to take the warranty. The funny thing is that they themselves complain about Logan, being a faulty car. This one I will definitely let the customer care know, bcz the service center itsels is demoting the car.

i also went to modern motors today to get the car checked...

they also mentioned that the water in diesel filter light popps out if sometimes some moisture is present in diesel......so it is something which probably needs no attention..

second light popping was related to heating plugs which operate before engine is started ,,,, and to this they said that sometimes there are fluctuations in between wires of heater plugs...

so if light remains on . then it is problem otherwise ok on there side.



rest i have mentioned this thing that if after warranty this thing happens then you do whatever you want to but you will only have to solve this.without asking for any money.

Hey Hitesh if ur car is still in warranty demand from them to change the entire wiring. I am now in the service center. They told me that changinf the wiring for the preheating indicator is around 18000 bucks. They told me that there is aome soldering joint which gradually becomes loose and give this problem. They will try to to dolder it again. But that might/might not solve the problem because after fitting the joint might become loose and the light will remain on. So the best solution is to change the entire wiring, go for extended warranty(if already under warranty) or sell this damn car. I am now feeling that this car sucks man. THis one is quite only two yrs old. a major problem for a car. Or I have some feeling that the service guys might have done some foul play once I rejected to go for the extended warranty. My Maruti 800 is 8 yrs old and has travelled around 1 lakh kms but still has not given me a single major problem of this sort. I am waiting for SX4 diesel, when I will exchange this problemful car with that one. Atleast cars from Suzuki r far more reliable.

Hey just after I wrote above post, I came across another Logan Owner in the service center who used to work in Mahindra previously. Hearing my problem he said this is just a sensor problem. Its like a thermometer joined with thexcessively as indicated from the e body whose temp needs to be monitered. If that joint becomes loose then it is bound to give faulty measure. So this light on means the heat is just being measured incorrectly. As long as the car is not getting heated up as measured from the heat indicator, its perfectly OK. He also told that this indicator is not required at all, u can simply cut off the connection. From what he said I have a feeling I should go some other service center and lets c what they say.

I have asked the service advisor to use the OBD diagnostic tool to give me any error reading they get for the preheating light coming up. He said that this kind of problem does not give any error code. Is this correct? If not then surely this should not be of major problem I guess.

18000 (usd 360) re-wiring cost.... strange.... this is too much.

for preheating light problem........ they opened up some kinda wiring joint and found one white coloured wire tored.

they just fixed it up and its about 2 weeks ,,, till now no preheating indication light..



although i do get that water in diesel filter light, but again it remains only fr 3 to 4 seconds

Exactly that is what should be done Hitesh. Today I called up the owner of the service center and I just throttled out whatever bad words I can say regarding the poor service I have been experiencing regarding the door noise repair. The GM of the service center got so scared that he soon deployed three people to look after whatever problem I am facing.
Strange enough the service advisor who told that the preheating light won't give ant fault code in OBD agreed that he will do a complete wiring check and provide me the error code. The preheating warning light prob was being handled to some other mechanic and he did exactly what has been done with Hitesh's case. He also assured that this white wire is one that usually gives the problem. It will be OK. In case the light again comes up they will add some additional wire and mend it. Right at that moment the service advisor turned up from nowhere and said my car is more under warranty. Hearing that the mechanic became a bit hesitant. So I felt within warranty or extended warranty they use to solve anything at low cost otherwise they will loot u.

Anyways the fault code that came up for the preheating light are DF016 and DF209 and the fault type for both are CO(Open Circuit).

At the end when my problem got solved they said that the new Logan comes with different type of wiring. By paying 18000 bucks I can have that kind of wiring that gives less prob. Its just bull shit man. I will write to Mahindra and tell them abt this foul sport they r playing.

Oh come on you guys all cars get made better every model gets a brother who is a bit better but we cant say that I WANT THE SAME .This just dont wash in this world .Its just hard luck in a case like this .I cant buy a Mercedes with front airbags and two years later they put side airbags in the next model ..........................AND is this a problem of the firm

Hey Martin tell me one thing, is the injection light and the preheating light the same one? The light that used to pop up in my dashboard panel has been termed as injection light in the manual posted in this forum, but the same one is termed as preheating light in the Mahindra Logan manual that comes here with Logan.

Anyways this problem got solved ultimately. I agree with the fact that it is these service centers that are spreading rumours of Logan being a faulty car that demands too much maintenance cost. I ill not leave this issue as it is. I will follow up with Mahindra regarding the false info given to me by the service center.
