AC Control not working

Had turned this knob clockwise, (actually rarely use this control). Now air only comes tn throught the windshield and side window vents. The control now has no effect.

Is there an easy way to fix this myself? Taking it to the workshop is such a pain.

There is a cable behind that switch, which has snapped, causing the knob to be free. You will have to take the car to the service station only.

this seems to be a common problem eh? Had the same issue.. they fixed it during my second servicing

Mine has snapped once, had to take to to the service centre and get fixed. It came loose from the other end (not on the knob's side) so they had to take in the car for a day and open the dashboard.

Yup ... I have managed to snap open the AC control panel and see that the cable is moving on this end and that the problem is somewhere up behind the instrument cluster ... oh well ... back to the workshop she goes.

not substandard quality. actually the cable comes off. a design malfunction in my opinion.

Saumil, Ashutosh - substandard quality of design - right? sadly, i have spoken to people and Mahindra-Renault corporate about the same and they say they are aware of it, but cant do much about it... wonder what they meant by this now!

We are all tired of our politicians taking us for granted. I am also tired on Indian coprorates taking consumers for granted.

I don't completely blame them. It must be a design that must have been carried over from Renault. Or something they goofed up when converting to a Right Hand Drive.

This is where R&D comes into play much bfore right..

bang on Saumil... I think it has a bit to do with "sab chalta hai" (anything goes) attitude that runs so deep in the Indian psyche... i wish Mahindra-Renault starts taking note of voices like ours.. seriously..

I mean if they want to become serious car sellers, they are competing in a space personalised by Hyundai, Maruti-Suzuki, Toyota and Honda... they need to get out of that "we sell Jeeps and tractors" mode...

The entire AC subassemby is from an OEM supplier caller BEHR

Absolutely.
I have in all forms of communication written to Mahindra that they have to ensure customer supremacy in all forms.. Customer has to feel like a 'King' and thats when the brand succeeds.
They have to understand the Importance of Customer Satisfaction if they want to stay here longer.......

I get the feeling that materials haven't been tested for strength and durability.
