Rattling Noise & Pick up

Asked Logan Service Center. They get about 30 logans a day from taxis for service.

Perhaps the only trouble with the car is the rattling noises

They keep recurring back after 3 months of service.

Maybe Mahindra should work in this area

Really dreadful rattling just aft 7000 Kms on a fairly decent road, one of the reason I brought Logan is I thought, as per some of the European reviews they reported no rattling even after many KMS of usage no such issue. May be because of their good roads.



Really seems to problem in all area of Logan



Steering Hard - May be due to bad tyres supplied by Mahindra, but still it is a issue

Poor Mileage – Mine is petrol it gives only 7 – 8 in city, however carefully I drive, may be my driving style is not correct

Noise when applying Reverse Gear, service personal told me that is normal for all Logans

Pickup is really poor

In shopping malls ramp it struggles even in first gear

Break noise when applied in slow speed, I have been told that is a normal for Logan

Engine produces more noise and little vibration beyond 100KMs,

If there is a problem with every part we interact, am really wondering what else is good about this car?

get your catchers changed and hinges aligned....i got mine rectified today and no noise at all..
but as vsuprak said....i dont know the plight of doors after 3 months.

2- steering hard..is your with airbag..?

3 - your mileage is , according to me very less. maybe i am used to above 18kmpl in my diesel logan.. so this kinda reaction on your mileage.

4 - noise when applying rear gear......here i am lucky...no noises at all

5 - pickup is poor........solution is to drive at higher rpm ..but then mileage is a concern.......even in diesel one .. car is sluggish in first two gears but then after 1500 rpm..car zooms about..... engines are tuned so to return good mileage

6 - brake noise will vanish on its own.....mine car also used to give such voices but now it has clocked 17000 and no noise now....

Strange I too have started noticing vibrations from the LH front door and around the left dashboard area. The noise had ceased to exist a day back but today while driving to office I came across the noise once again. I will have to take it to Sireesh Auto. My first service experience with them has been bad. Lets see.

My vehicle has so far covered close to 3000Kms.

If you want a good pick up you need to drive the car at the correct RPM it is no use hoping that the car will zoom off at 900 RPM it just wont but it will at 1700RPM all cars are like this .Hard Steering is mostly due to wrong tyre pressure or Cheep tyres
The door rattles are also in the Euro Logan
Yes the motor does become loud after about 110kmh Just turn up the radio
and if you cant get it up a shopping ramp then the fault must be with YOU a Logan has a VERY powerfull 1st and 2nd gear and it will pull you up just about any Hill or ramp

Mine has crossed only 7000 KMS, car is close to one year old now, do i need get it serviced or can i wait till it reaches 10,000 KMs.

10,000 km or 1 year,,, whichever is earlier


so get ur car serviced if u have reached the time period

guys.. the shift into the reverse gear is noisy at times and i have noticed it is because the clutch on the logans are really hard.. after the Hyundai or Maruti stables, a Logan clutch pedal feels like a tough cookie.. and you have to really push it right in to release it.. even a few mm short, you get a noise from transmission.. I wish they had worked it out better though, because the chassis under the clutch has a queer bend which means size 11 people like me are in trouble anyway

Yes, I too noticed the depression and I think its because they expect people to depress the clutch completely for smooth gear changes.

I really love to see the simle on your face as you say this.
But i would rather stand by what you said. Luckily for me, i havent faced any such noise so far.
All i enjoy is the whine of the turbocharger kicking in.

I took off the scuff plates from the front and pasted them back. The rattling/vibration noise seems to have reduced almost completely. Need to check further if that is what was causing the rattling/vibration issue.

Well my Logan is over an year old, no such issues till now, only the door rattles , tak tak sound which as Martin says is present in cars abroad too, so its an inherent problem and i have got used to living with it

hell of noise............want to literally abuse mahindra ....

I too had experienced rattle from the front left door... Since,. it has happened a few times with my Logan, what I do is, ask the garage guys to open the door panels and tighten all the screws / nut / bolts... it works for me... I would also like to try the scuff plates solution given above... just to be sure, the scuff plates are the black rubber plates on either sides of the window, correct?

Actually, the problem is with the Logans Heavy door. The Scuff plate that comes installen isnt a problem as it is a rubber one. The problem may b with the Metal ones pple install aftermarket.

i have been from past 1 yrs and 3 months........and tolerating period is still on and on

Had a word with some Mr.Devindra from Mahindra HO, Sewri, he says will call me to schedule an appointment. He says, there is a solution available. Will update u guys once it is done..

had a guy called Sachin say the same things to me .. he is still to meet me though.. €
