Things to Remember !!!

Dear Members,

I would like to have your valuable comments on following aspects.

i) Before Leaving Dealer's Door, what are the precautions that needs to be check for ,

a) Registartion Formalities
b) Car Checking
c) Other things that needs to be check and clear.

Please give detail comments for each point

It will really helpful to all of us ......

few things while leaving the dealership with a new car;

1> the number plates ( i know it sounds funny, but i dint get mine for three days after delivery)
2> when the registration certificate and insurance papers would be given to you
3> check if the seats are dirty with the mechanics fingerprints.
4> see if any company put tinted windows are done neatly.
5> see if your auto locking system works fine!!
6> first take it to the fuel station and get the air checked

- Ask them to bring the car out, and in sunlight, check the car for any dents, major scratches, paint mismatch.
- Finalize what freebies you'll get and get them installed/ fitted in your presence.
- Take a test drive of the car before leaving the dealership, check if everything is working fine.
- Check the fuel guage (usually there is enough fuel for you to go to the nearest fuel station).

My dealer would give a 5LT or 10LT fuel voucher for your first fill at a designated petrol pump.

Make sure you are getting both the Service Manual as well as the service coupon booklet (these are separate boolkets)

1. As regarding the paint work, open all doors and check in the inner pillars, especially the pillar between front & rear door on both sides.

Normally, any mishandling by mechanics causes minor scratches. The dealer tends to buff these areas and touchup with paint which can be clearly seen if any in bright light.

2. Check if all wheel caps are properly fit. Else you will reach home and the caps will reach elsewhere.

3. Jack and wrench in proper place.

4. Make sure that the Engine no. & chassis no. typed in your service manual is not overwritten, cut across or re-written.
Dealers get manuals separately, so cases of re-writing usually happens.

5. Take contact nos. of the service station and the contact person. You will need this in case of an emergency.

6. Open fuse box and check if spare fuses are kept properly. (will be of great help)

Thank you all for this information, the funny thing is that , i did not get number plate from the dealer and when i call him , he tell me we never provide number plate , if car is sell out side therir city, is it true ?

I dont believe that!! How does it matter to them, they just have to stick/paint numbers on to it! How does it matter which city is the vehicle registered!! BTW, why did u purchase from another city!?

purchase from other city as there is no mahindra logan dealer in my city.....

Thats funny! Another way of saving money! Damn these dealers!!
