DACIA LOGAN 14MPI LAURIETTE

Dacia Logan 14MPI Lauriette 14000km
I have driven this car right across Europe. And have never had to visit a workshop.I have never had to add oil either .I fitted my Freshair filter because it has none and the car fills up with dust and stuff without this.
It handels very well and the braking is Very good .I have ABS and for those of you that do not know what ABS is good for .
If you do an emergency stop your brakes will lock and you just just skid down the road with no controll Now if you have ABS your brakes go ON and OFF and you can Steer the car .I have used this in the Winter in snow and ice and it realy works
The Airbags I hope will never get used but I have the pleasure of knowing I have this added protection .The Passenger airbag can be turned off in Case you have a small child in front (which is forbidden anyway in Europe)
I have travelled at speeds of up to 160 KMH on the Autobahn and it is steady But the steering is very positive at these speeds
The paintwork is Very good and the underbody seal is also good
You may notice below the doors in hot weather that sometimes rust prevention stuff seeps out and you see it on the sills
I do not have a AC (I live in a cooler climate)
Yes the window buttons are in a silly place but I can live with that
The seats are very comfortable and the driver seat has a up and down button and also a Back support button (very good indeed)
I have no problem with tyres Mine are Goodyears
The fuel we have to use is Super Petrol that is 98 Octane
I have no funny rattling in the doors allthough this is a problem with some Dacias (I was Lucky)
on whole I have a good car and am pleased that I bought it

He needs a tail lamp. in their Logans, the reverse light is on the right tail lamp, just the opposite of ours. He want to get our type tail lamp, which has the reverse light on the left.. so that he gets reverse lights on both the tail lamps.

i have we broken right reverse tail light! If u want !

Ok here is my Update
Dacia Logan 14 MPI 32000 Km problems with this car from the first Km are the following New wiper Blades needed (Old ones are cheap and useless)
Pollen enters the car (Fitted my own filter )
Fuel consumption is OK
Handling is OK
Paintwork is VERY GOOD
OIL Consumption is None
Seats after 32000km are still like new
Tyres still good But I do use two pairs a year Ie Winter and Summer
Clutch is Ok
pick up is Ok for a 14oo engine
so on whole
IF anyone is thinking about buying a Logan you will not do wrong with this car Be it from Mahindra Dacia or wherever its made 90 Percent of your parts are from RENAULT and this name speaks for its self

Today i have been and had my Winter tyres fitted .The winter is slowly coming down to us here in the Black Forest and I dont want to be caught short ! It is Law in Germany to put on your Winter tyres and a good law too

Sitrep

Next Friday Simply Red goes for its last service under Garantee it is now 3 years old and has lived in 2 countries UK and Germany In all of these years I have NEVER had to add a drop of oil or even change a lightbulb .I hope my next three years will be as good
In 2 months time I will be off on my journey to Gibralter from Karlsruhe Germany and I just know I can jump in this car and not worry about breaking down

Hi Guys sorry about delay in writing about the service I have been in Hospital and still not so good
But here goes Mrs Stu took the car and I thought oh Shit here will be a big bill but no! It came to only 52 Euros for the complete check up 3 years 45000 Service I told my wife to ask about the brakes because of outr soon due 3400 round journey and they told her Oh No Mrs Martin your Brakes are good for at least another 20000Kms this is what I call fair trading and i will stay with this garage

The Dacia Logan has now been discontinued in Germany so you will now be getting maybe a lot of stuff from Romania

Yes we now have 4 different platforms and the Logan has finished its job now

Looks like the market prefers the hatchback. But I too remember you did mention that for the Logan there was a waiting period of 6-8 months. How did this change happen so drastically?

They bought out the Sandero and the MCV and during the 5 years that the Logan was sold it got lots of fans from all over Germany hence the sale of the newer model I am not to bothered as I am so happy with the Limousine model it does more than most cars in this price range and it has the largest boot out there and the back seat has more leg room than BMW or Mercedes

Wel Yesterday I took my Discs and Brake-pads to the garage I paid 58 € for the set
The Garage fitted them while I waited and I paid ...........................30€
Now that is what I would call a Bargain eh guys !

The nose is much better than the mahindra logan grill.
You have kept her in top shape too.

I notice the mirrors are the same ( horribly engineered in our case, brake so very easily ) .
now they ship with slightly larger door mirrors. hopefully improved ones.

also which is the nice looking dacia hatch next to your vehicle ?

That car is a Dacia Sandero My neighbour listened to my praises and bought it 2 years ago

they may launch it here in india. About a yr. back while they still had the JV intact , there was some talk of launching in india. Smart looking vehicle.
Looks modern but doesnt go all out to be curvy or sporty or concept. looks balanced.
