| . You seem to think that in Germany (or Europe) we can drive at fifty ) around town .Not so !! we have our traffic problems as well so musch that we npow charge to enter towns and we have also stickers that say if you are eu3 or eu4 and this will allow you into the towns on a Hot day due to pollution .I drive a door to door delivery vehicle and I deliver to 60 People a day I press my clutch at least 300 times a day .WHY NOT BUY AN AUTOMATIC ? and didnt you test drive the Logan before you bought it take a look at London above | |

| Automatic is not introduced yet and again we are more concerned about fuel efficiency so automatic won't sell much.
Yes i did test drive and it was okay that time . clutch became very hard after driving for 5000kms. changed the cable as well but didn't help.
This is very much common problem that all the logan users are experiencing in India .

| @diwanras: with my best abilities i suggested you to go legal as your case looks genuine as per what you have mentioned. but you dont want to go that way. in that case its better not to criticise things out here. its not going to solve the purpose. you also say that at time of test drive clutch was OK and now its not. but then you have been sold the defective piece from the very first day, as all parts with you are problem and you get them replaced free under warranty. pls let us know with which supplier you get this done. you may have already disclosed this earlier but you can still post it again. @prakash: in your case i would say you ended buying wrong product. it is always better to suffer some loss rather then drive prejudiced. this is your fault and no one else's. i do agree that all can not be discovered in a small test drive. but i totally disagree on the point that in the small test drive one can not differentiate between SANTRO and LOGAN. you had earlier raised many issues which are not found on this forum. pls see the post on the same thread page 3 https://mahindralogan.forumotion.com/technical-f6/14-overall-logan-experience-t113-30.htm i believe that this discussion has reached a point of mistrust where forum members have a doubt that whether the critics really own a Logan as they claim. this doubt is not totally wrong. the feeling comes in because the points raised are not experienced by any one else. points like no pick up etc. depends on what one calls a pick up. also pick up is transparent and easily known in test drive. apart technically there is nothing like pick up in 1st gear. all Logan's be it european or indian as based on same platform and parts. Petrol Logan manufactued in india by mahindra goes to South Africa. if you think South Africa conditions are better then India condition then it is incorrect. now they really might be owning a Logan and also might be facing problems, but the same needs to be seen and felt. so if we dont see any visibility on this front it is like we are discussing on delusional issues which do not exist. | |

I am writing up my experience and you know i am not finding faults here. I am letting everyone know about my experience hoping that Mahindra renault would improve their reliability in future. And also my experience would help others users to solve their problem. for eg rattling noise [ change the catchers on warranty]. Tyre problem [ you can claim from JK tyre and change it in pro rate basis].
If i go leagally and get a new Logan and its not gaurantied that i won't face the same issues. so i decided not to waste my time. i never used any vehicle for more then 3 years. So i will be changing it anyway in 1 more year.

Friend, the point is that if the trouble has really bothered you enough and you are not going to take stern action against the manufacturer, then how can we excpect the company to lend an ear to plight of customers? While you definitely have to evaluate the pros and cons of going legal, which will involve a lot of running around, you can also approach the consumer redressal forum. I also agree that even if u were to get a replacement for your car, there is no assurance that that you wil nopt face the same problem again. BUT, the company would definitely have opened its eyes by then. Whether you prefer to take legal action or not is purely your choice, but atleast ensure that your voice is heard!!

My wife drives around quite a bit in the Edge and her observation is that almost all LOGAN drivers on the road drive a lot more sanely than drivers in other cars. I haven't personally noticed this though..

| I agree with rdr that most people who drive around in Logan drive more sanely - May I further qualify this statement - most (if not all) Loganizers would be driving around far more sanely than most others.
And it is to the credit of this forum. I for one have learnt a lot and have become a much better driver. Have been driving for as long as I can remember, but ever since have bought the Logan and have been reading this Forum, I have to admit it has made a difference.
Yet another aspect is that Logan gives you that "unhurried feeling" because of the spacious interiors and its excellent ride quality. Even my teenaged son (as I have written in some other thread) has sobered down on the road.
Clublogan - kudos!! ....... and guys, thanks to you all.

| I can agree ... I certainly don't throw the Logan around like I used to my previous car ... (WagonR BTW) ... so it is only partly the driver's mentality and partly the quality of the Logan that makes you drive like this. | |

| Do people not throw their logan around because it is more difficult to accelerate faster than other cars? When I first started driving my logan, I felt it lacked punch and that responded slowly even if I needed sudden acceleration. But, now after a little change in driving habits, the jump is always there when I need it. Not that I throw it around.. just that in city traffic in chennai you definitely need to move fast once in a while to avoid getting crushed by a bus/water tanker. | |

| It is a known fact that the Logan is quicker off the mark than a golf of the same size this is due to the less weight that a Logan has .and the 1600 Logan will leave all 1600s behind it you dont and should not need to throw a Logan arround and dont try to after speeds of 100kmh because you will have a nasty suprise due to the failing EPS so if you see a dog or some animal and you are traveling at high speed just hit it or the dog will live and you ............................Maybe not Stu | |

Stu Maybe the Indian Logans are tuned differently? Anyway, in the city here, I am talking about jumps from 20kmph to 60kmph. Forget about driving at any speed over 60.. On the highways, I have never felt any lack of power.

| I still find my logan 1600 underpowered to a fault.. getting away from other cars at traffic signals, or saving the brush from a turning tractor is not easy in my logan at all.. the power on the first 2 gears is bad... becomes nice on the 3rd, falls away on the 4th and only works up in the 5th between 60 and 90... | |
