Welcome to the forum Maharaaja, You definitely made a good choice. The Logan is a GOOD vehicle. Yes, there are issues about the looks (perception of people). Personally, I feel nobody has faced any service related issues. Not likely to face in the next few years too, even if the MR JV goes weak. Now, people comparing it with Dzire and other cars. Well there is always something which looks better. (Does Dzire really look that good? I cannot digest it even now ) Few things to keep you equipped Things you will appreciate about Logan + Sturdy build quality (lift the bonnet to feel it) + Refined engineering + Interior space (loads of it) can comfortably seat 3 full-grown adults + Boot space + Good FE + Ride & handling, very comfortable Things you may not appreciate about Logan - Looks - Interior plastics - Ergonomics - Negative word of mouth spreading across - Relations between Mahindra & Renault How long do you intend to keep your new car and what is the kind of usage you are looking forward to? Let us know.

| I agree vsuprak. The one of the main reason is negative mouth publicity for Logan. You will find may car forums which have atleast 2 or 3 Logan Bashing threads. Some people just start bashing without any reason to Logan. I agree some people may not like the looks, but they also should understand that the looks of other cars might not be liked by other people. _________________ Vyenky

Hi Maharaaja, Welcome to the forum. I've completed more than 7000kms on my 1.4... and am simply loving it. Ride quality is better that any other vehicle in it's range. If it is being compared with the Dzire or i20 ... It comes our far better than the i20 in terms of Fuel Economy and ride quality. Compared to the Dzire it's definitely better in terms of FE. I can't stand the 'Boot stuck to Swift', looks of the Dzire. Talk to the service enginners at Maruti service centers, and they'll tell you other maruti petrol engines perform better than the one on the dzire/swift. FE is not consistent on this engine. Also the dzire is not as sturdily built as the Logan.

though Dzire model is hit in market just because of maruti tag, DZire was never built on a sedan platform. it is nothing but swift with added rear space. engine is same and so is the platform. it is better to go for swift instead of Dzire. i would say Logan stands apart from both Swift and Dzire, because Logan is a proven sedan. it may not be working that excellent in india but it has its own success stories which is a fact that can not be denied.

hey guys thanks for the confidence boosting... am sure am settling in for a good vehicle.. personally, i didnt like dezire at all for the reasons mentioned in the other posts here... i test drove the i 20 and found it to be nice, although it was a little overpriced, or so i felt at 5.26 lacs on road at kochi. also, the 1.2 kappa engine was a little underpowered for the i20, i felt. what continues to worry me of course is the future of the Mahindra Renault JV. also, is it worth going in for an extended warranty for 4years by paying 10 K extra. my dealer is offering me this scheme.

hi pal thanks a lotfor the good words i am basically a long distance drive freak, and plan to take my car out for the weekend drives from kochi to trivandrum, kanyakumari, or up north to kasargod etc. once in a while i may take it to chennai otherwise will be using it for city drive at kochi... as for keeping it long enough.. i was driving a fiat palio diesel for about 45K km. why did i sell it? because, this car had sunk in the infamous mumbai rain of 26 jul and though it was operational after six months in the garage.. it had now started giving me "mid life" problems.. so i thought, it was time to sell it.. hope to eventually replace the logan with an SUV, i donno how soon.. thanks again for the reassurance

hi people, have finally taken delivery of my gaadi yesterday. drove about 25-30 km in city conditions. vehicle is a beauty .. (a) i am not used to the indicator controls on the left of the steering wheel... my previous car, fiat palio had them on the right side.. i ended up activating the wipers on atleast two occasions. (b) the dealership has a long way to go...the TVS dealer got the vehicle identification number wrong on the tax token... looks the RC book will get it wrong too... i have asked him to change it through the RTO. (c) the vehicle had a small scratch with pain peeled off in the front side on the bonnet. shocking for a new vehicle..the dealer has offered to get it completely painted .. this for a vehicle less than 24 hours old.. the dealership has a long way to go... the vehicle itself is nice... the new edge has a spoiler built into it..and the mirrors have also been redesigned...looks a lot more funky... hopefully things will get sorted out... keep the responses coming guys...
