Hi guys,

I have got my logan 1.4 GLX which is 1.5 years old. I have got scratches all over due to some rickshaw guys in mumbai and few coz of the devils children in my colony. Now, I want to fix up these scratches and little dents. My one year service contract with Authorized service workshop is expired and I haven't renewed yet. What I want to know is renew my service contract and done this job at the service centre or can I do it with some local shops. The local shop guy said, that the job is of some Rubbing and Polishing which will cost around 1000 bucks.

Please give me your comments/suggestions

i have a person from my service centre who paints my car outside the service center and that too at half prices...

no worries of scratches anymore..

lucky you. i am getting ideas from your post. will need to have some time to implement them.

I dont have this problem anyway cos we dont have any rickshaws

we punjabis are notorious for such acts that is why nowadays many service centers do not allow car owners to stand and talk with service center guys.

i even have numbers of two service advisors who help me outside the workshop regarding engine or whatever i ask them

@ Hitesh, i suggest u dont get paint jobs done outside! The company showrooms have a very good paint workshops and follow all the waypoints given by the company(Atleast NBS here in Mumbai). You wouldnt want the painted part to look different than the rest of the car would u :-)

obviously saumil...wudnt save bucks at the cost of paint job....

but am quite quite satisfied with the work as he does the paint work in his friends workshop which is quite well equipped and even heater room in which they park the car and then do the job.,

why dont you try the compaint, it is the best option avilable for scratches,

Works like a charm, I have a few scratches and i shall be using it on em....am also planning to paint the ORVM, mud flap and Door bidding black using compaint....Shall be posting the picture by monday......

Just got my Sahara Beige Logan repainted by my old faithful car repairman.

Did an excellent job of denting/filling/repainting/polishing of 4 side panels and 2 bumpers. Didn't have to do bonnet/roof/boot as they were OK. Has matched colours perfectly and returned car to me in showroom condition - and all in 3 days.

Supervised some of the work myself, so I know they were not taking shortcuts.

Costed me Rs7000/- for the removal of all the accumulated scratches and minor dents of almost 2 years of Kolkata city driving!

I learnt from service center that any one side of the car is covered under insurance.

So you can get the job of dent removal, paint on either of left, right, front or back side of the car wherever you feel the need is more under insurance. i think labor charges have to be bourne by customer though i am not sure.

can some one tell me if they have similar information.
also if this is repeated at some intervals it may be possible to get all the sides done...

You could lose your no claim bonus !I would check to see which is cheaper
paying yourself and keeping bonus or claiming on the Insurence

Yes as Martin said blindly going for insurance claim is a foolish act. Calculate the no claim bonus that u would loose compared to the amount u will pay by yourself had u been not claiming insurance.
Insurance claim should be done only for major accidents or when the premium comes down to as low as 2000 bucks. For me the premium has come down from 22000 to 7500 in three yrs with no claim.

any way to find what is the no claim bonus...
is this mentioned on the policy or any formula to calculate this...
