Mileage/Average/Fuel Economy(FE)

The DIS on my Logan DLS is now showing a figure of 19.6 Kmpl Very Happy

. This is with 100% AC in Lucknow city over the last 6K kms (extreme summer heat in north India).

I got a tank full this morning....Calculated and realised it returned 13.5/ltr , this when i ve been driving 100% in the city with 90% AC.....Not bad, Not bad at all...

As suggested by Stu, didnt reset the trip counter for about 6300 KMs and the DIS is showing me steady figures of 13.0 KMPL for the past 1000 KMs. The drive included early morning empty roads, city outskirts driving, light city traffic, and at times heavy traffic where a distance of 10 to 12 KM takes almost 2 and half to 3 hours. The average earlier for first 3000 KM was 13.8 KMPL when i used to drive at 60 to 70 Kmph (at a average speed of 28 Kmph) but reduced to 13.0 when i started to speed at 120 - 130 Kmph (increasing the average speed to 30.5 Kmph) for the rest of the 3300 Kms. The car has been driven with AC on all the time.

Now i will settle at a max speed of 80-90 kmph and check the mileage for a month. ( I checked the 2 extremes of my abilities with this car Smile

)

Planning a long trip spanning 4300 KMs during the end of the year. Lets see how the car fares and what mileage I manage to get out of it Smile

I drove this week from Karlruhe to Dresden and from Dresden back altogether around 1400 Km I had a fuel consumption of 7 litres per 100 km trvaeling at times arround 150 kmh
BUT
Simply Red must go to the Doctors

Because when I am driving in town or light traffic 2000 till 2400 RPM she has started to hesitate (stutter).in fact its a bit like missfire without the bangs .(Could be the fuel cut-off is coming on to early) I went to a garage who checked the plugs and he said i have no big problem because the OBC light has not come on so tomorro its in the Garage and use the garantee

I did about 435 kms driving from Pune to Diveagar / Harihareshwar and back.
Must have been more that 60% ghat section. About 60% Ac. Mostly bad roads.
I got 15 kms/ltr on the DIS.
Great drive along the sea from Diveagar to Harihareshwar. Amazing ghat sections on the konkan belt. No beach shacks, no shops... lone guy with a tea kettle selling tea on the Diveagar beach !

The Logan did extremely well on bad to very bad roads. Reafirms my faith in the vehicle... absolute pleasure driving it.... enjoyed spicy konkan food too !!!

Its spanned over a period of 2 weeks. Will be driving to all these places Mumbai -> Bengaluru -> Tirupati -> Tirumala -> Salem -> Thrissur -> Guruvayoor -> Cochin -> Allepey -> Kannur -> Kollur -> Goa -> Mumbai.

And extra KM's to visit places over there.

Lets see if i manage to get my leave on time Smile

Hoping the climate and the roads to be good. I have chosen reputed highways to travel for road safety and even if i detour, it wont trouble me much Smile

Planning to avoid late night/midnight driving as it would be my first trip outside Maharashtra.

Where all are you headed ? I recently did Gurgaon-Bhangarh-Abhaneri-Jaipur-Gurgaon..

Well , the govt. explicitly prohibits visitors before sunrise and after sunset. I found it to be a very nice and quiet place with charming ruins. The place is a bit off the main highways and hence it is less frequented by tourists. If you are headed towards Jaipur and have some time to spare , I would definitely recommend a detour to this place !

Invest in some sort of GPS navigation.

Simplest is to atleast have Google Maps tracking your location with a GPS enabled phone. I can assure you that the confidence with which you can continue on a long dark deserted road is very comforting.

Also look up www.gpsed.com, I have downloaded an app that record my track, which can be either uploaded LIVE to your account on their website, or stored on your phone to be uploaded at your leisure.
