KN AIR FILTER

I HAVE PURCHASED A KN STOCK AIR FILTER FOR MY LOGAN DIESEL. I WILL GET IT FITTED & POST ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE. I GOT IT FROM MY FRIEND IN US. HE PURCHASED IT FOR ME AT $37 IN NEW YORK. I HAD 1 IN MY FIAT UNO. THE MOMENT I HAD IT FITTED ON IT,I NOTICED A TOTAL SILENCE FROM THE ENGINE. WITH SUPERB ACCELARATION. IN FACT I RACED WITH THE PORSCHE CAYNE THAT DAY TILL SPEED OF 150KM.

The slowest Cayenne does a 0-100km/h in 8.3 Sec - there's no way that anything (except the Octavia RS) selling for under 20 big green ones can keep up with a Cayenne on open road by adding a K&N filter alone.

No contest.

Please don't make tall performance claims that have no basis in reality.

Anyways, is this the stock replacement kit or the induction kit you are talking about? Do post a pic of it.

SORRY,I did't mention.it was on a some what busy road,not on a highway.as i had a small car,i could go zig zag & race with him.i it was a highway he would have left me far behind.my piont was the acceleration i got was excellent.

It's stock filter from kn part no.33-2864. i had taken the opinoin of mr. Ashay from Four seasons automobiles tardeo. he said a stock filter is always recomended for diesel car's. don't ever go for a induction kit. that's why i brought stock filter.

hmm.. sad that K&N has been quite lethargic in bringing in their range for Logan in India yet. I must have written atleast half a dozen mails to them in these one and a half years. And they didn't even respond for one!

I had visited Four Seasons in Dec 2008..
I asked him for a K&N filter for Logan and he said there was any available for Logan.

So how much did the stock cost?
And is there any drop in mileage?

Yes i brought kn filter from 4seasons tardeo in feb 2009 for rs.4100/-. it's worth it if u want a decent pickup from ur car. i think i have a liitle drop in fuel efficency. i am not sure. i used to get 25/26 km/ltr at a speeed of 80/100 kms per hr. now with kn filter i got around 20/21 kms/per ltr. but i drove the vehicle at 130/140 kms from lonavla to pune till where the expresshighway end around 40 kms maybe. so may be the drop of performance.But, i would quote that the engine is more responsive & give a humming sound as if it want's itself to be revved.

yeah the filter which my friend send me was a waste of money.it did not fit the air filter box. the guy from 4seasons said to send it back to him & get the money back saying that i am not happy with the performance r the fuel efficency has gone down, anything u think it right. so ihave send it back to him & asked the same ownwer to get the green or kn filter for me. he said kn r old in this business and the performane is much better than that u get from green filter. he then got a kn filter for me for rs.4100/-. mrp on box 4450/-
