| Subject: Fuel Line leak Sun Mar 08, 2009 1:35 am | |
| Two days ago, my Logan's fuel line disconnected itself from the engine. Luckily the vehicle was not moving and was standing idling. The only indication was a strong smell of petrol fumes inside the passenger cabin. Otherwise it may have been catastrophic as the engine was heavily spattered with leaking fuel.
A local mechanic was called and he had to simply reconnect the fuel line to the engine.
Today was my 3rd Free Service (12months) and I explained this to the Service Advisor. The Fuel line was checked and I was told that the fuel line is attached to the engine in this manner only, and there is no additional clamp, etc.
So everyone, pls get a mechanic to check the fuel line, where it connects to the engine, as a precaution, and make sure it is fitted firmly. | |
