engine cooling fan does not stop after stopping the engine

Dear friends,

I am using Logan for more than 2 years now,

Since yesterday evening, The cooling fan of the car engine keeps running after stopping the engine and removing the key.

last night we had to remove black cable from battery to switch off the the fan.

upon connecting the wire to the battery terminal, fan restarts,

pls advise

Its normal this is because the engine is Hot and it will keep on going and cool it down that way
its OK don't worry about it ! BUT I would check your Water and Oil to find out WHY its getting so hot

Hi Vikas,

As Stu mentioned, the Logan's fan does run even after the engine is switched off and key removed. This is when the engine needs cooling. However, anything more than 5 minutes will need attention.

Dear friends,

we progressed to removing the battery cable after doing the doing the normal trouble shooting tips as have been advised by you in the first case,

next day i have shown the car to a local electrician, and problem has been isolated to a erratic temprature sensor / relay next to the fan ( second connector other than the socket),

the behavior of this sensor is erratic, she has been behaving since, will get it checked at authorized service station,

my comment on the forum to anybody from M & M listening is reply is not prompt, and the tips provided are just to make a reply, anybody with some commonsense would make some checks before posting on the forum,

unless commonsense is rare,

I'm not sure if anybody from M & M is listening here. It is a fact that unless baby cries, even mother doesn't feed the baby. & all of us are grown ups...

So this forum is here to discuss the problems related our logan & understand the seriousness. How any body can expect to be tech guru on this.

Note people here are not getting paid for their suggestions, it is just a humanity working here"Do live let live".

Sorry to know that a common sense provoked you to post on this forum before getting any study or information about cars.

While I do echo the sentiments mentioned by other members, I would like to clarify some facts. This forum is a commonplace for Logan owners to discuss their passion, love and experiences with their cars.

The fact that we share our problems and try out suggesstions made by others is purely a value add-on which members are actively supporting with. It also helps to bridge the gap in a huge country (and global as well) and get to know, what it's like on their end.

I am not really sure if M&M members read through here. If they are, we are happy. If not, we have still survived over 7 years without their support.

Being the moderator, I often receive emails from irate customers who demand replacement of a faulty part, poor service at a dealership and so on. They fail to recognize that we are neither the mouth-piece nor the representative of the company.

If I may call it so, people who are spending time here to add knowledge and value are doing a charity.

I would therefore like to invite you as well to join us and help us make a strong community of Logan lovers.
