| Hello guys,
I'm Dr.ashwin from Kerala, my car is a second hand with odo 2.5Lakh kms. So has been engine overhauled recently including pistons crank cam shaft and even the turbo. After which its delivering me a mileage of 25kmpl in highways. But I'm getting just 12.5kmpl in city.
Why such a great mileage drop? Will pressuring the injector nozzles and replacing the air filter help me find a lasting solution?
I changed my rides strut, tie rod end. Still I get that thap-tap sound when I drive my car in bad roads.
Dudes please help me out...

| Hi Dr. Ashwin,
Have you tried speaking to your Service Advisor regarding this issue? Usually, they are able to suggest you the reason for such a drastic reduction in mileage.
From your post, I assume that the overhaul was done at a dealership. But was there really a need to overhaul it at that time? Here in Bangalore, the Airport taxis are running with close to 5 lakh km on their ODO and have still not gone in for an overhaul.
Another question I would like to ask. In your city commute, what is the traffic condition like? Heavy | Very Heavy | Chaotic?
Do let us know. | |

| Agree on the same, i still see Logan taxis running without a sound with lakhs of kms done and the way they drive and zip is bad, But still the car holding on strong, so was it required to overhaul the engine or they just did it to make some money. | |

| I believe as the word suggests all fluids are replaced after cleaning all parts that contained those fluids. Petrol is inclusive. Meaning by even cylinders and pistons are touched in this process. | |
