| Ok. Now this post is not related to my vehicle. was on my way back from airport to home after a flight from Delhi. Took an Easy Cab (Logan). Few kms down< just peeked into his ODO and it stood at 2758**.
That was almost 3 lakh kms.
These were the details i gathered from him.
1.5 DLE 3 years since purchase. No engine / transmission related issues (Not even minor) Servicing every 10000 kms Alternate service at authorised center (Oil change etc at local, next at Auth. center) Steady average of 18 km in city. Clutch plate assy. changed at every 60000kms Clutch cable changed by self when needed (no technician required) No maintenance for A/C (only 1 refilling of refrigerant) Average servicing bill 3000-3500 Best visibility among fleet (Logan, Indigo, DZire, Marina) Plastics still original and standing together Plastic trim got dirty, but cleaned every alternate service Pickup still same as earlier days Vehicles delivered in last few months coming with Hydraulic Clutch (can someone verify this?)
- Last year easy cabs placed order for Indigo XL (Tata was offering maintenance package included in price. so company took it) - Indigo avergae service costs about 8000 Rs. - 45000kms down, plastics falling apart & rattling. - Customers prefer to be driven around in Dzire even though it is more cramped at rear
I think this is a testimonial in itself.
Have some audio clip of his praises. trying to see how i can present it here.

| Yes Stu, I noticed it last time after the service. Normally it is at 900 when started. With AC ON it goes up by another 100-150.
Lesser idle revs are causing stalling in some Logans as per the service center reports. Could be due to the fuel quality as well. Need to check on it.
Whats the recommended idle rev for a 1.5 dCi?

| It can vary between 300 RPM and 500 RPM when I say vary it can be just going up and down between the two 500 will be great and anything above is a waste of fuel | |

| Mine also idles at 900 RPM and AC pushes to 1000 RPM. At some stretches I never press the accelerator, it just keeps moving. Slot in second gear and leave(I mean don't press the accelerator), vehicle speed will be 20 km/h @ 1000 RPM with AC Most people who drive Logan diesel for first time, find it little different to adjust to this higher idling speeds. | |

| I have done 7000 + Kms in nearly 7 months. Going good. Front dash board rattles a little on certain engine low rpm's. Fuel efficiency is at 18 Kmpl for city driving with AC on at all times. | |

Thats normal. Most of the times we negotiate corners at good/high speeds. Which part of the tyres do you think the vehicle weight shifts to during such times? One of the reasons we do that could be because we feel confident in the fact that the vehicle can negotiate the turns at those speeds. Also this is a vehicle which is not light. I too did notice the outer edge wear and after giving it some thought came to this conclusion. One thing that can be done is to remove the tyre and replace it back inside-out at about 30000Kms-35000kms. It can be done when one goes for wheel balancing/alignment.

| Make sure you rotate tyres at about 15000Kms. Check tyre pressure every 2 or 3 weeks. Get it balanced and aligned at every 10000Kms or 15000Kms interval. I did that and used my tyres till 55000Kms though it could have done 60000Kms. Anything above 60000Kms is extraordinary considering the road conditions and owner/driver habits (driving skills). | |
