| I test drove the Logan/Verito recently and felt the braking was a little sluggish.
What I'd like to know from Logan Diesel owners, especially those who drive often on the highways at higher speeds, if having an ABS has been helpful.
If I'm considering going for a Logan Diesel(Verito), should I go for one with ABS? Ofcourse going for the ABS equipped model will be stretching my budget a bit too much (as I'm moving from a hatchback budget to a sedan).

| Div..Go for one with ABS..It will help..
ABS has not been triggered for me in highway conditions, but it has been triggered in city conditions, where I had to brake heavily on seeing bad roads and pot holes in night. In Logan, ABS feels like as if your brake is shuddering and losing traction, but eventually car stops. But remember ABS does NOT reduce the braking distance..It prevents the wheel from getting locked up during heavy braking.
And yes you are right, I too feel braking is sluggish in Logan..So driving at sane speeds is what is best suited for Logan.

| Thanks for the feedback guys.
Suppose with the ABS, one can still drive the Logan a little agressively?

| Am using one w/o ABS since 3.5 yrs and 50000kms+. Have had no issue with braking. It is crisp & has good bite. | |

Suppose with the ABS, one can still drive the Logan a little agressively? ABS does not warranty aggressive driving is safe in any car.. ABS will only help to prevent wheel lockout in case of situations where standing on brake is needed.. When wheels lock skidding happens..So ABS will prevent skidding due to wheels getting locked up during braking. But some say changing the stock JK tyres to Michelin (Michelin Energy XM1+ 185/70/14) does seem to improve braking..

| Braking isn't really sluggish - its the stock tyres. Upgrade to a better tyre and you'll see that braking is very effective. | |

| ABS will allow you to steer the car even in case of hard braking as there is no slip of tires (loss fo traction).
@dtandon Agree with yout point. I've replaced my tires after thoer life was done, with BS Turanza. I must say, the handling is more tight, car feels very dynamic to any response and braking has also improved considerably. It is more confidence inspiring.

| YOU have ALL missed the real reason of ABS the main factor for ABS is to stop the car Skidding and allowing the car to be steerable on a emergency braking situation | |
